Ill say that corruption occurs as a natural thing across society. Certainly so in law enforcement. While certain aspects of that in law enforcement can be tied to racism, this is not that. Nor should this be tied to white supremacy. It definitely is can be linked to the power and bullying mentality demonstrates by cops of all races.

Are the vast majority truly good people? They will fall in line and uphold this rotten culture. They will attack and sh*t on any fellow officer if they speak out.

we have seen so many of these abuse cases…How many times have we seen an officer actually try and stop their colleague in these instances? They either do nothing, laugh and joke, or actively participate…then they will lie about what they did with ease

Y’all remember that old lady in Colorado they brutalized? They were freaking fist pumping at the precinct and gleeful over hearing her bone snap. Not one of them was like “hey, this is fcked up…this is wrong”

that young kid Elijah McClain that was killed after being placed in a chokehold and injected with ketamine…none of them cared…matter of fact, the ones involved in his murder later went and took this photo at his memorial basically mocking him

That people get murdered by people who were entrusted with authority.

We are desensitized to this to a certain degree. This resembled gang violence which is an apt description for some corrupt police mobs.

I think some of these officers will be acquitted of murder but the officer(s) doing the kicking and punching should rot. All 5 were out of control and will be convicted of a crime. He didn't have to die that night.

There is absolutely no excuse for what those officers did.

This is nothing more than a televised execution without the quack sentencing. A monthly or bi-monthly event...

Thoughts and prayers to the victim's family.

That will always be a possibility, all you can do is punish the act

In this case it really didn't matter that they were police. Could have just have easily been five civilians beating a guy to death.

That would be ideal. However, people from the right often want to punish people who question those with this authority. There is a concerted effort to try and target the victim as well as to try and mock those that speak up against law enforcement abuses.

I've had the opposite experience professionally. Most cops are acutely aware of the rights of the accused and the appropriate powers and privileges of an officer. It is the rare circumstance where an officer violates the rights of the accused. That said, in this case there appears to be a total lack of professionalism and absolutely they appear to be violating his rights and outright murdering Nichols.

I agree. Government bureaucracy is generally terrible.
