Burrow, Brady, Manning, and Brees. None of them had or have the physical tools of the top guys. The tools obsession has to stop. Every physical tools qb is one hit away from having to play with pure accuracy, anticipation, and within the pocket to win games. Those are the attributes a team should be most concerned with in picking a qb. Obviously you need to hit baselines for physical traits, but overvaluing them is how you end up with Zach Wilson and Jamarcus Russell.
If Stroud showed the poise, processing and off script ability that Young has or any of the above mentioned, then I would agree with you. Strouds tape doesn’t show that.
It isn’t all about the money for Demeco doesn’t seem like that kind of guy…and that’s why I still have very little hope about him choosing Houston. Just get him in the building for that 2nd interview please
It went in this order at the QB position at Lee: Jermaine Alfred Baylor Clint Stoerner Arkansas Ell Roberson Kansas State Drew Tate Iowa Brian Johnson Utah Jeremy Moses SFA
Terrible under pressure. You just choose to ignore that Georgia game, don't ya? The rest you described can be applied to some the best QBs in NFL history. Brady, Manning Mills may be a better Athlete, but he is NOT a better QB. Just because you are a Freak athlete, doesn't mean you will be a good NFL QB. Brady is an average to below average athlete, but is the GOAT at being a QB. Peyton Manning was a statue in the pocket. No, Stroud is not those QBs (yet).
Levis didn't perform GREAT. He has slight above average games against those teams in 2021. He had a below average game against Georgia this season. The problem with Levis, he looked like TRASH against Vanderbilt and very Average against most other competition.
It is not one game.....however, it is the BEST performance of his career against the BEST team he faced. That is HUGE. You can't ignore if you want, but NFL people won't. They understand the talent and the situation that Stroud faced against Georgia.
And? He’s still a lot higher upside than Stroud. You conveniently leave out Strouds terrible to underwhelming games against Penn St., Northwestern, Rutgers, Michigan and Notre Dame. He beat up on bad teams.
85 TDs, 12 INTs. 8123 yards, 69.3 comp.%. CJ Stroud. NW game....Terrible weather no one could throw the ball. Tulsa game, the 3rd start game of his career 185 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Those are the only 2 games of his career that would be considered bad. Compare that to Levis. LOL. He had really bad games against average to below avg. teams.
