JC is leaning to the paint to help with PnR defense. KJ is doing fine. There's only one person to blame on this defensive possession and it's Jalen. He literally doesn't defend anyone for solid 7 seconds after the PnR switch.

Laziness? Lack of coaching discipline? A real coach would have pulled his a$$ for that

This clip of the Rockets' defense is similar to just about every game they played. Jabari and Sengun seem to be the only players making any real effort on defense and the other three, except maybe for when Tari is playing, are often just watching and loitering around once their man goes by them. This is especially true with Jalen Green. They cannot win when they are often playing 2 versus 5 on defense. What is the defensive "coach" doing? How can the Rockets coaches not see the serious defensive flaws of Green and the others? They need to bench anyone who is lackadaisical on defense no matter who it is, but keep hammering the importance of defense and the proper defensive fundamentals. The Rockets, as an organization, seems to be the most inept in this particular season although I hope this is not deliberate on the part of the FO.

Looks like the team is starting to finger point too! Imagine getting yammed on and then trying to blame someone else who wasnt even in position to defend! LOL Excuse machine working overtime.

Trend continues that our "franchise stars" dont play nearly as well vs good defenses. Going down by 30 was definitely a team effort. Same broken record of not being able to make shots and thinking that post up bunnies are going to get it done. 5-21 from 3 point land and the nerve for some to say that 3 point shooting is not important.

Cant make shots or stop anyone is the theme for this year regardless of who's in the lineup. At least its fun right?

I don't think it's laziness, it's just lack of concentration imo and it's with every single player on this Rockets roster. With some more often, with some less but the lack of concentration is always there.

    Guys

Just being honest, I only saw about 10 mins in the 1st Qtr and shut it off. I knew what was coming. Sengun is tried to play defense but it's only so much he can do with what he was blessed with....he's marginally athletic.

Green, I flat out hate to say I'm beginning not to like him but I'm starting to turn on him. He doesnt bring anything to the table other than scoring, NO HUSTLE, NO DEFENSE, NO PLAYMAKING, NOTHING....NO KILLER INSTINCT! He's the player I'm most dissatisfied with.

I feel sorry for all of our fans who thought he was the next Kobe.

Until we get a real pg and coach, this is the best option we got.

Yes bud, it's much more fun since we get rid of KPJ and yes they'll get better by holding each other accountable since there's nobody in the coaching staff to do that for them.

Sengun thought it was Jabari's fault, he was wrong and Jabari corrected him by pointing at Jalen. That's how you build winning habits. Deal with it.

I'm struck by how seamlessly Cleveland rotates on offense. Jarrett Allen floats into the middle and then to the FT line. That was such a smart play. It's the mark of a well-coached playoff contender.

The other group (notice that I did not call the Rockets a team) makes an absurd number of small miscues resulting in a highlight reel dunk. It's not a sign of youthful players. That's the distinctive mark of poor coaching and bad basketball culture.

College teams, which have limits on how much time they can practice and work together, create coherent defensive rotations. They expect results.

In the clip, Sengun raises his hands, pointing to the bind that he's in because Jalen isn't guarding anyone. And once Martin allows the ball back into the middle, there's no hope for recovery.

The correct coaching move would have been to call a timeout and demand something from the players. I know the score is only 4 to 4, but the Rockets were not ready to go.

Fans deserve a better product. Let's have a new coach or new GM or ship somebody out. The status quo is unacceptable.

Biggest issue with the team is not talent, it's the coaching

Still mad I didn't know Josh Christopher was going to start and didn't watch the game. And, honestly, I feel at this point that Josh Christopher himself should be calling me directly to let me know.

bari shows up to stop green’s man. Then he passes out the ball. At this point either bari goes back to his man switching back with green or green goes there keeping the switch. Instead bari stays and green has no idea what is going on.

Jalen is supposed to step out to guard him but stands there and gets out of the way.

Jalen is a lazy, inattentive defender. Constantly gets lost on assignments, ball watches, and leaves his man open on 2nd possessions to try for a cheap cherry-pick attempt. He's getting drilled with awful coaching leading to bad habits at a vital stage of his development.
