Şengün is legitimately putting up HOF numbers this month

I was lucky to watch both players (Pau&Alpi) when they were teenagers. Respect and my love to Gasol's game aside 18-20 years old Alpi is better than same age Gasol.

Gasol is a very clever guy, once studied Barcelona Medical School. I have no idea about Sengun's normal IQ but Alpi's BBIQ is certainly not lower than Pau, likely higher.

Gasol was lucky to be surrounded by excellent players in Barcelona, Lakers and Spanish National team. Sengun played in either ignorable (Banvit,BJK) or rebuilding teams (Rockets, Turkish National team) so far.

Whether Sengun's career will catch/surprass Pau's is unknown at the moment. Just enjoying to watch him as enjoyed to watch skinny Gasol 24 years ago.

Lol when i was in middle school spain nt u16 stayed at my dorm at giresun pau was pg of that team probably the first person whom i met got superstardom.

 

He's getting empty stats on a lifeless team, and he's done it for only one week. All that says is there a chance he could be a piece to a playoff team. Likely 4th option after next year. And we should compare him to a black player too.

I love Alpi and if he and Jalen every develop even 50% of normal NBA defensive skills and effort, we'll be sitting pretty. But calling HOF at 20 is a very premature ejaculation. Gasol played D well, and had two rings with the storied Lakers franchise. Houston Rockets Hall of Famers have to EARN it.

It's like "your dude" puts up 15.6 ppg, 12.3 rpg, 3.9 apg and you come out with some stat that says "in the last 100 years, he's the only player to ever do that!" Then you realize somebody that scored 20.5 ppg, 12.2 rpg, 4 apg wouldn't be included in your list. Durrr...

It gets worse when they started adding the "under 20" criteria, which ends up being a nice, tight constraint. I look at the draft now and everybody is basically "under 20" when mentioning most of the players near the top.

 

what’s Sengun excuse this year and next year when the rockets don’t at least make the play-in
