I asked a question. Nowhere in that post is a statement where I say it is a good hire. I stated what the Texans seem to be trying to do. Nice try though. Hell, I make no assumptions about them building a contender or even if I like the hire.
The other one I really want is Tank Bigsby Aub or Roshon Johnson Tx. Bigsby will cost us #101 and Johnson #174.
Yeah I brought up Roschon a couple weeks ago. Very shifty. But it was probably more of the bias in me.
Do not under any circumstances trade up to get a QB. Take what is there at 1-2. Hell draft defense at 1-2 But don't be the typical Texans this time around.
They already typical Texansed by winning that last game. Now Colts will likely move up for Young and Nick will take Levis at # 2. Bryce will go on to be Brees 2.0 while Levis will just be another Jamarcus Russell, Blake Bortles but he has a cannon for an arm! bust.
The only times in their history the Texans have had a reasonably good QB and fielded reasonably good teams is when they drafted multiple draft picks to get one (Schaub, Watson).
I feel like it would almost be more typical Texans to pass on who they think (assuming they have one in mind come draft time) is the best option to be their franchise QB out of embarrassment. Two-thirds and a fourth isn't a horrible price to pay for a franchise cornerstone if that's realistic, not like it will be Demeco/Gannon's fault Lovie decided to go rogue
Young will be there at #2 most likely if the Texans want him. No way a team is trading multiple first rounders to move up to draft a QB that has questionable size/measurables. If not, then just go with Stroud if they're that into getting a QB at #2; both are ranked about the same to me. Young isn't worth the Texans trading their other picks to move up one spot (2nd and/or 3rd and 4th round).
2 3rds and a 4th doesn’t sound like a lot, but why wouldn’t the bears just take 2 firsts from colts? They can still get one of the 2 top defense guys.
1. QB BRYCE YOUNG, ALABAMA Young is flat-out this draft's best playmaker at quarterback. He can get you a bucket. Young earned a 92.2 grade in 2021 when he won the Heisman and followed it up with a 91.5 mark in 2022. https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2023-nfl-draft-board-big-board
Dear God, if the Texans trade back up to #1 after winning that last game, then Goddell should give this franchise the death penalty.
I’m not necessarily advocating for moving up but there is a chance the Texans only like one of the qbs, so if Indy trades up to 1 and takes him then the Texans may go defense. In that case Chicago could miss out on Anderson and Carter at 4.
This is the 2nd time I’ve seen Peter Skoronski mocked to us and while it isn’t the most sexy pick it could be just what we need… But I’m not a fan of decaying guards in the first round in back to back drafts.
I don't hate it, but I'd rather get a WR and spend in free agency to get a quality, more proven right tackle.
