I guess offence will still run through kpj mainly. Hopefully we can see kpj + sengun one two punch. Or we should trade sengun when his value is high, if we really want to develops kpj instead. Sengun’s stats will drop a lot when kpj is back. ( personally I hope we can keep Sengun anyway)
Apart from how we run the offense, the main problem will be Silas going back to KPJ-Green-EG. This trio is weak defensively and do not make cuts as kj or tari. Even if we play through alpi, it will be worse because of having a defensively crippled starting 5 and offensively crippled bench. Silas not mixing them up is one of the most obvious coaching mistakes I have ever seen.
Nothing, hopefully. KPJ's been watching from the sideline, and I'm sure he can see how much more fluid the offense looks while running through Sengun--and how his decision-making is probably the best on this young team right now. If KPJ knows what's best for him, he'd jump right into this current offense by playing off of Alpi and initiating the offense when Sengun sits. If I were Silas, I'd make sure that happens. Alas, I am NOT Silas so only the basketball gods know what monstrosity awaits us...
How much worse is KPJ then the many other combo guards playing PG around the NBA? For his salary, is KPJ that much worse than Jamal Murray, De'Aaron Fox or D'Angelo Russell?
I would gladly take any of those players over KPJ personally. All three players are more efficient scorers and have lower TOV% while IMO being better passers. More importantly, all three players have shown the ability to do all this while playing off a star big.
i agree IF KPJ will defer to Sengun letting him run the offense. That means he will become the secondary playmaker. If Silas has them go back to KPJ being the ball dominant player he was before then we will be back to where we started.
I always said kpj is hindering the development of the other youngsters. I would expect the same thing when he comes back and the offense is back into kpj iso show
Fair enough, but: Jamal Murray: 5 years/$158M ($31M per) De'Aaron Fox: 5 years/$163M ($32M per) De'Angelo Russell: 4 years/$117M ($29M per) KPJ: 4 years/$63M ($16M per)
Better players get paid more. They are better scorers, passers, and can play off stars. Plus I don’t recall them coming with baggage either.
I think last year after sitting out he came back a improved player admitting to sitting out gave him a chance to see the game from a different view and where he can improve Hopefully he has the same attitude this time
