CavsXbby still acting out? Nothing has changed. Seriously my guy just go watch Cavs game if you are that enamored with Mobley.

One player did not turn their franchise around but it was a collective effort by drafting and trades pre and post Mobley selection..... that Cavs team is guard driven success with Allen anchoring and young Mobley assisting and able to focus on what he does best which is defend, not really a lot on the plate of a so called sure bet

I Am not arguing about either outcome, just calling a spade what it is

People like you are so worried about being right that they over hype up others to try to justify their choice

Oh boy that 0-11 game must have really gave you a migraine, get over it, ish happens

right. when you often see Jalen thrown on lists that only Steph has been on, or only that AI has been on, or only that Lebron and Luka have been on, etc., then you gotta take notice.

young superstar in the making with half the season to go where he can really shape his sophomore season narrative. on the right track with last night's bounceback

Mobley was a big part of it, but what you are saying is actually fair. Garland improved by a lot which is what is supposed to happen for young guards on their way to becoming star players. Something that has not happened with Green, that’s why I’m out.

Garland made the leap in his 3rd year so you’re out on Jalen after 1.5 years?

    Makes sense

Actually garland has made a leap every year. He was horrible his rookie year. That’s the sign of a great player, not whatever Green is doing

One, Green is in his second year. Not only that, he joined the league a year younger than Garland. Two, Green has expanded his usage and volume with defenses more honed in on him while only being off by 1% in ts% from last season. And if he has a decent second half he most likely will exceed his rookie ts% with higher volume and defenses concentrated on him. And again this is his SECOND year, not his third.

He has doubled his WS/48 from his rookie season. Doubled his ftr. Increased his ppp for pnr plays. There are a lot of things he has improved on from last season you will flat out ignore.

but garland did it in his 3rd season at close to age 22. green has lots of things to improve, but it's too early to give up on him imo

Lol imagine if we drafted Garland ... CavsXbby would be having a melt down. He was one of the worst rookies ever and now look at him.

On bball reference, it says Garland started his rookie year at age 20 and Green at age 19. But ya it seems like it's more because it's 2 years and a few months. I think Garland was one and done so similar gap between HS and NBA.

What is Mobley doing diff from rookie year to now? What has he actually improved on individually? What leap did he take to give you star vibe?

How long before you are out on Mobley?or is 14/15 and 8 (educated guess) with good defense enough for you to ride along the Mobley train?

Garland was horrible his rookie year and made a leap his second year, then again last year. I can’t think of a single great player that didn’t take a leap their second year, that’s the main reason I’m out. Maybe he can still be Zach Lavine, which was my original projection, but I’m doubting that now. Season is not over yet though, if he can put more games like last game together maybe he can still salvage the year, then it would look better.

Let's see how much actually talent evaluation you have vs just box score watching.

Can you compare the traits of Green and Lavine at 20 or even Lavine is now.

Who's more of the straight line athlete and the one with more wiggle and creative ball handling? What are their similarities. What are their differences?

as with any projection, there are a lot of variables to take into account. ie they play different positions, green has to fight the headwind of kpj/silas, etc

i've seen in the previous decades hyper athletic guys need to figure out how to keep their jumpshots on balance -- they have such crazy springs that it often throws their shot off. on offense i see green usually making the right play, the shots just don't go in too often. on defense he looks lost way too often and that is a concern
