Ukraine is losing right now? Huh? What metric are you folks using? Ukraine is getting more and more advanced weapons as Russian army is depleting its army....the export control on Russia doesn't allow it to replicate its t90 and other advanced weapon systems due to sanctions... how is Russia winning ?

    150k+ dead/injured Russians is somehow winning ?

Weird how zelensky does this right after CIA chief met with Zelenskyy last week. Looks like the CIA has good sources working as double agents in Russia. They've been spot on this entire time.

Ukraine is losing? That certainly isn't the sense I am getting from friends and relatives in that part of the world.

I have a few friends in Russia that are former military and they certainly don't think they are winning.

The war isn't over, and a change in the White House could flip the war.... but right now, the Russians are losing.

This is what I don't get about the biden bashing regarding classified docs. The biden CIA is probably the best the CIA has been in a generation. Burns is absolutely killing it and they're running the show in Ukraine. Without CIA intel the Ukrainians would've lost long long time ago.

CIA has taught a masterclass in information warfare and its given itself alot of credibility after the disaster bush years where they were committing war crimes. Biden really is building up the government from scratch again.

Ukraine is taking heavy casualties (so is Russia) in the current style of fighting with both sides having to attack fixed positions. No, Russia isn't winning, but Ukraine was far better off when this war had more mobility not a bunch of dug in troops on both sides.

Ukraine is also one of the freest democratic nations most often invaded by expansionist super-power aggressors that are also adversaries of the United States.

Business opportunity to sell military equipment to the US government (the tax payer) who then gives it to Ukraine.

To fight an aggressor that somehow won the hearts and minds of conservatives at home and abroad.....

Was much easier when Russia were godless commies.... now they play the Christian nationalists game so conservatives are supportive.

Ukraine being able to be a capitalist democracy in the future is a good economic opportunity for the West. Why would it not be good to have another major trading partner instead of a desolate Russian state criminal cesspool where nobody wanted to live because it’s a police state?

Ukraine is the size of Texas, has major shipping ports, has raw goods to export, and has a capital city the size of Chicago. It’s a good freaking investment to help Ukraine protect itself and in the future become a free partner to the world to do business with.

Sort of weird that you think otherwise. Serious question… are you actually Russian??

Very well said. I’ll add that a knowledge of history would benefit some of those eager to appease Vladimir Putin. Trying to appease a mad dictator is a fool’s errand.

The leaders of the most powerful countries of Europe during the late 1930’s, Great Britain and France, appeased Adolf Hitler. Militarily, those two countries were quite capable of stopping Hitler’s actions and defeating Germany should it lead to war. France had the strongest army in the world, the United Kingdom the strongest navy, yet they allowed Hitler to do as he wished, again and again.

All in an attempt to prevent war by appeasing Hitler, who had an insane desire to, among other things, create a “Greater Germany” for the German people. At that point, World War Two was inevitable. It played out like a horrific nightmare, one far worse than anyone could ever have imagined. America ended up in that war after all, up to our neck.

Appeasing Mr. Putin, who desires creating yet another Russian Empire, is a certain road to war. That’s a road I ardently hope we do not take. So far, we have not.

Yep. It’s a simple question in the end… name me three counties in the world who are autocratic that also have thriving economies.

The fact is, if the largest country in Europe is a free society, its economy will contribute more to the global economic health of the world. People will want to live there, business folks from the West will feel safe enough to travel there, etc etc.

If Russia takes over Ukraine it’ll be a police state where people who speak freely get murdered. That’s the only way Russia can govern that country at this point and nobody in the global economy will have an ounce of interest in that country.

Not supporting Ukraine in this war is just so bizarre to me and really only makes sense if you are someone who is just fascinated by autocratic police states. We can’t help every country of course (see Afghanistan) but in this case we actually can because the only ask in this case is shifting a small portion of our defense budget from bombs in the Middle East to tanks and defense Missiles for Ukraine… which in the end only puts more revenue in American businesses like Raytheon, Lockheed, and Boeing.

And economics aside… it’s still the right f-ing thing to do. Especially when nobody is asking you to fly over there and fight alongside them. You are only being asked to shift money from one war that rarely serves your interest to one that definitely serves your interests and actually helps innocent lives be saved from Russian bombs hitting playgrounds and hospitals.

I’ll give you guys a simple easy to understand reason why you should care about Ukraine:

-Yesterday I paid 20 dollars to get my wife a 6 pack of Michelob Ultras
-beer is more expensive right now because of the price of grain
-the price of grain is high because of global supply
-the global supply is currently not meeting demand because Ukraine is one of if not the largest exporter of grain in the world
-Ukraine cannot export its grain because Putin is currently bombing its ports into oblivion and murdering people that would be needed to help get that grain from farm to ship.

Do you guys just love paying 20 dollars for a sh$tty 6 pack beer? Support cheap beer…. Support Ukraine.

Personally I prefer being sober but if I am going to enjoy a beverage, its not going to be a crappy beer. I honestly do not understand why anyone would pay for that. And to further suggest that we should continue to kill people for you to enjoy cheap crappy beer is pretty narccacistic.
