These guys are subs right now, but fit with what the team needs long term: they are pure points with pass-first mentality, they are dogs defensively (not just 1on1 but also off the ball), they are potential leaders and also have hidden offensive upside.

They are currently coming off the bench, with their teams apparently set at their starting position, so their pedigree may have lowered.

Do you think they could be obtainable? I would be very interested because I can see them fitting PERFECTLY with Jalen, Sengun, Jabari and even whoever we draft this year not named Scoot Henderson.

What do you think would be their price?

Mitchell would be my choice because of what he brings defensively. I don't know if he is worth a late first. Maybe? 2 second round picks is where I may start. I would want Mitchell as a back up PG if we went after him.

I'm a huge fan of Davion Mitchell, think his future is underrated. He wouldn't be cheap, but I would pay up for him because I think his value is going to increase a lot. Plays great defense, responsible with the ball, just needs that 3pt shot to start falling. Would fit great as a development piece, might be the perfect PG to feed Green, Sengun, Jabari.

Tyus Jones has been mentioned a few times in this forum. He would be great as that playmaking guard that can protect the ball, make the right decisions and defend aggressively. He is performing quite well in the backup role, he is at the right age and is showing he can be a quality starter. He is also shooting 40% from 3 last two seasons.

If we don’t get a PG at the draft or FA, I’d be keen for us to make a move for Jones.

Henderson. Lol, Maybe Stone will surprise me with a big trade for a quality starting PG. I like Mitchell. Just like him better as a spark plug off the bench. Maybe it's his height that makes me doubt him as a starter.

KPJ is best suited to play off ball. Not his back up if that was what you were referring too.

Sure we'll trade KPJ for him . . . the salaries match - can't see how Memphis says no.

    Davion. Oh lord.

    That is a dude defensively.

I was talking to a girl who went to Baylor, so obviously follows the teams after she's graduated.

Since I was talking to her I was a Bears fan for the year before last's March Madness.

Goodness gracious me watching him play defense. And then lift his game offensively on the biggest stage of his life at that point.

    Sign me up.

KPJ has a poison pill contract which makes it difficult to trade him in season, but I did come up with this:

Lonzo Ball is theoretically the perfect fit. Jalen will never be big enough to guard 2/3s adequately so you need a point guard that can.

I’ve tried but can’t find a trade that will work with KPJ’s poison pill

Suggs is...not great. Nor is he a pure point in any universe.

Mitchell would be great, but can he be had..?

Yeah, I'm joking. Even if the salaries match when KPJ's extension kicks in, there's no way Memphis is getting rid of Jones unless the Rockets are offering Victor.

He’s good, but the price wouldn’t be that high.

You're still not grasping what the Rockets are GOING to do. Run much of the offense through Sixgun. KPJ compliments that perfectly....secondary ball handler/catch & shoot...

Even if the Rockets WANTED a conventional PG right now, teams wouldn't let go of such high draft choiices thiis early, and, they would want a haul. 2 seconds...C'mon.

Jury is out, if Fultz can come back from the hole he dug himself, anyone practically has a chance.
