Why in the world would you use the metric 'gun deaths'? If you shoot someone trying to rape you , thats a gun death. The goal of a gun law is to reduce homicides and suicides. Not gun homicides, and definately not gun deaths. God awful analysis.

Too many Westerners (in this case Americans) view Asians as a flat stereotype. It is a form of racism that is largely not dealt with. That type of expectation or alienation weighs heavy on people, and men in general are more violent and are not as good at forming support systems. I am not surprised that Asian American men are in some cases are responding with extreme violence. What I hope is that society opens their eyes to the fact that we depict Asians in unrealistic and not fair tones and we stop - but I am afraid we will just see an increase in anti-Asian hate crimes.
These things won't stop until: 1. You stop selling guns, outside of rare and limited circumstances; and 2. You start, in some sort of gradual process, picking up the 400+ million guns in circulation These things are: 1. Not politically popular; and 2. Will take decades if not centuries to effectuate but no time like the present to start trying to make a better America for future generations. Nothing short of the above will stop or severely curtail the gun violence phenomena.
