Agree 100% and understand that most young players are inconsistent. But you have to admit his effort level was night and day when comparing the two games. I expect inconsistent shooting and decision making from time to time, but effort is something that the player can control and should be there every game. I'm not giving him a pass on the poor effort the other night, but tonight's game goes a long way to helping me believe that game is the exception.
It's not that hard to figure, he takes a lot of high degree of difficulty shots and relies heavily on off the dribble 3s, it's just going to be feast or famine as a result.
I agree wit this, 4 years is enough time to know. Next year he's going to need to take a big step. Not just scoring 20+ ppg but doing so with some efficiency and having not embarrassing defense. If he can take that step then he'll be worth investing in.
Unless the Rockets get a new offensive system that generates easier shots for the wings.... saw a couple of passes to him off of cuts tonight... can we get more of that Coach... please, please.
I think that the disorder of the team and the lack of experienced players ends up affecting the concentration of our young players. It is very difficult to stay focused in a team like this. It is not intended to be an excuse, if a mitigation. That's why a veteran PG would have helped a lot in his development. But anyway, if Jalen Green wants to be an All Star he's going to have to take a leadership role. That's a fact.
In both his 40+ pt games this season less than half his shots were threes. He attacks the rim a lot. His degree of difficulty has more to do with how little of his points come off assists that give him easy looks. The vast majority of his attempts take a lot of effort beating three levels of defense. Tonight you saw some good set ups by Sengun and Green running off ball and being the right positions. That will tremendously help his efficiency.
Probably in their man cave throwing darts at his poster and punching the air while praying for his next downfall(bad game) so they can come out of hibernation and proclaim n boast how a certain player is not out there to make him suck again
Great game for Jalen, one of his best. Good to see he was studying film after practice and even better for him to see immediate results. Hopefully he can string together some efficient offensive games. Want him to build on that defense for a good stretch of games. It's time to take a step up in that department.
