Sengun is our bread and better. We should play through him the rest of the way even when KPJ comes back. I think playing through Sengun will open up a lot more good looks for Jalen and KPJ. Playing this way should allow them to score 25+ each per game. Sengun has the ability to possibly average a triple double only if this is done correctly.
I agree with you. Anything shorter than triple double makes me feeling Alpi was sub par that night. He might get 10 to 20 triple double next year.
He’s averaging 6.4 assists the last 5 games. We need to poach someone from the Nuggets staff and play Sengun the way they do Jokic.
"...But right now this game, we did all game the same (all quarters, not just 3) Shared the ball, no one was selfish, everyone played for teammates. That's why I think it was the game's key..." different angle (and uncensored)
A quiet night due to less post opportunities vs Gobert is still 21 7 7. I guess that’s the baseline for him because it doesn’t get tougher than Gobert.
As a narrative destroyer I am obligated to point out that he had a great 7 assists and 5 turnovers - which doesn't matter when you win. I just hope we remember this when KPJ does the same. DD
It doesn’t work like that, you can’t compare a guard’s assist to turnover ratio to a center’s. Jokic had a 2:1 ratio his first three season and he is the greatest passing center of all time. Sengun since the Sacromento game when we started running the offense through him has a 1.88 ratio the last 7 games. I’m not as out on kpj as a lot of people, I think he is a capable playmaking wing, just not a great pg. Sengun is a top 3 passing big in the league. Also it’s not just about turnovers, kpj makes poor decisions and isos too much which turns into wasted possessions. Sengun has elite scoring efficiency and moves the ball when others are open, that’s why the offense flows so much better. Putting the ball in Sengun’s hands more and relegating the decision making to him allows kpj to play to his strengths, catch and shoot, attack off close outs, and only when the team needs bailout shots he can also iso. The pair should work great together if the coach just invert the roles.
Love the way Sengun is leading his teammates at the moment. Leading by example rather than complaining about everything and everyone. Always concerned with how to win the next game. His defense is improving slowly and I think as I predicted he's going to be good by year 3 or 4. His 3pt shot is falling with more regularity and he mentioned in his interview that they've been working on it (this is so critical, was very happy to hear it). He's above 30% on a very low volume right now but that's encouraging. Sengun with a 3pt shot is game over for the league, and he only needs to hit 33-36% to keep defenders from sagging off him, which will create more opportunities for him and his teammates. Great job by Sengun and whoever on the staff/team that is a part of it.
He almost completely stopped complaining to the referees in last few games and he doesn't get into foul trouble. Please keep it up Alp.
they already cant sag off of him because hes elite driver and dribble drive penetrator...find another narrative
everyone is a good mathcup for Sengun, and it didnt happen overnight, it was always the case he only ever struggled when doesnt get enough PT , touches and shots to get into rhythm
