Some have it early or some go from baby boy to male-man assassin mentality as they come of NBA age, essentially by year 4
Wait, so at worst Jalen Green a 20 yr old is inconsistent but at best he is one of the players of all time? Yeah, its not hard to love him. He is a young super star, no and's if's or but's about it.....
For those of us who were disappointed in Jalen’s last game against the Wolves...what a bounce back game from him! Motivated and engaged Green is a different player completely. He’s figuring out how to utilize Sengun, who is pretty much the perfect partner for him, and is getting easier shots (while still taking and hitting some crazy hard ones). I also think that he can eventually be a positive on the defensive end, if he figures out his off-ball stuff. That block on Russell was otherworldly, and proves he has the physical tools, at least. This was also his first 40+ game that resulted in a win...and it feels so much better!
They are giving him more of a run way on handoffs which helps, he generates more speed and doesn't get bodied as easily
Was hard on the kid after that last game (he deserved it), but this game was SUPERB!! Mixed in different types of shots, changed pace, scored efficiently, but what I'm most excited about is his defense. He was engaged, focused, and that block on Russell (who was cooking from the three) is game saving stuff. Glad he bounced back with an impressive game. Let's me know that he has pride in the product he puts out there and wants to take the next step. BTW... If he has truly added that floater to his bag, NBA watch out!!!
So much for those who claim that he's just a chucker putting up empty points that don't lead to wins. He definitely needs to work on bringing this level of energy and focus to every game, but tonight he was the primary force that led the Rockets to the win. 42 pts on great efficiency (60 FG%, 50 3P%) and good defense Would still like to know what the hell was going on with him in the last game though, no way is game is this schizophrenic
I still think it's 50 percent shot selection and 50 percent confidence. Green is still taking a lot of contested shots, he just made them tonight. His overall handles and effort seems to go up and down with his confidence. I don't mind him missing good shots, I don't care for it when he makes tough shots. We all know when he's on be can drop 40. But I'd rather he have games where he scores 17 points taking 10 good shots instead of 25 points on 23 shots
I agree with you pal. But we must not forget that he is a 20-year-old kid in the middle of his second season. If he were able to consistently maintain this level at this stage of his career we would be looking at a basketball prodigy. Let's give him time... a good coach and a PG.
