For me, this boils down to Every Day is Halloween vs. Headhunter, and I can't decide. But Every Day is Halloween seemed so unMinistry-like, and still a great song. I'm more of a fan of synthpop Ministry than their harder stuff. Headhunter is one of those songs you sit down crank up and it never gets old. I still play it often back-to-back with A Split Second's Rigor Mortis just for kicks.

As a group, I probably like KMFDM more than Ministry, but not sure if I like them more than Front 242. Virus, Go to Hell, Megalomaniac, Sycophant, Adios, Leid und Elend... lots of good stuff in there. The beat/music was good, but was kind of wasted on "Industrial lyrics". lol.

Nitzer Ebb's, Let Your Body Learn's intro is ingrained into my 20's mind, but I was never a big fan of theirs.

I was never a Skinny Puppy fan, either, so... eh.

So, to answer : I don't know. I like bits and pieces of all of them, but if I had to choose it based on one song/track, it would be Ministry's Every Day is Halloween vs. Front 242's Headhunter.

That bullet point lyricism has never been duplicated. Unless you count Brian McKnight's Back at One...

    1. You're like a dream come true
    2. Just wanna be with you
    3. Girl, It's plain to see, that you're the only one for me

    Humpty Hump:

Know what I mean? A'ight, here's the scene:
You're lying on you're back with your head on the edge of the bed,
The booty's two feet from your head:
    Should you:

    A. Take the time to find a condom
    B. You walk right over and you pound 'em
    C. Tell her that you want her love

    Well the answer is D
    D. All of the above.

I would seriously have a hard time picking a favorite out of these. I consider myself lucky enough to have seen them all live in their heyday.

The Ministry Land of Rape and Honey and TMIATTTT tours were incredible.
As were the Front 242 shows for Front by Front and Tyranny.
Skinny Puppy never disappointed live either.

Take me back to Numbers, give the X & or A and lets party.

Ministry, but they really went to ridiculous levels and just became grating.

This is the last of their really hard stuff I liked.

I remember when Stigmata came out on 120 Minutes and I must have watched that video over and over. It was such a WTF moment as It was so different than anything else on 120 Minutes at the time. Land of Rape and Honey and The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste were such great albums that marked such a big directional change for Ministry. I wasn't crazy about the metal direction they took on later, but I love the synth pop early years.

So if we include the synth pop and the industrial dance years , I'll take Ministry.

it is kinda cool seeing the transition over the years though.

Ministry is an easy pick for me but I like all of them except Skinny Puppy. I saw them all except SP (although I barely remember kmfdm) too and Ministry was the best show.

I like them all as well (was listening to Front 242’s Geography earlier today). You should also give a shout to Front Line Assembly. I would probably vote for KMFDM mainly because of the Nihil album, which has many great tracks with the best being Juke Joint Jezebel.

This thread is too good to be relegated to the 2nd page already. Come on people - discuss your love for industrial music!
