Yeah I'm not sure what the OP in the tweet is watching. Green does well whenever Sengun does well also. They can compliment each other well if we had an actual offensive scheme/plan. I mean we already see it when Smitih/KMJ cut and move while Sengun is in the post. Just imagine if we just had an offense that built around that and we play to that each game.

I’d say so far Andrew Wiggins is the best comp.

Hopefully they are watching his defensive lowlights. For all the damage such a video did to Harden's reputation, it did at least light a fire under his ass for a season.

    Wiggins was a lot better.

Early Wiggins maybe, now Wiggins is more of a well balanced player whose 3 and D is more needed by Golden State.

I mean uber-athletic high pick with questionable motor and motivation, playing for a losing organization in the early years.

    What happens next?

Got a max extension, by having to pinky-swear to the owner that he’d try harder, which he didn’t. Moving to a winning culture made him a respectable player, and an All-Start.

I can see something similar happening with this guy here.

I agree there are similarities, but Wiggins was never as bad defensively as Green, so he's like a poor man's Wiggins.

Yeah but Minny is like the coldest place and very unattractive.

Houston is hot paradise and as John Wall said it is sweet life without much pressure.

The 4 games prior to his worst game of the season he was averaging 29.3 ppg 4.3 reb, 3.8 ast on above average TS% (58.4). The 2 games against Minny he really stunk it up on both ends though. His shots haven't been falling and his three has been inconsistent, but he's been getting to the line to make up for it. For a person with his athleticism, he really relies a lot on his 3s going in.

Green definitely needs to bring more energy (or ANY in regards to last game) on the defensive end, but was he really slumping with just him and Sengun? Not really...

I do think the losing is really getting to him. He looks like a guy who could use a few wins or the all-star break to refocus. For this season, during our wins Green plays well and contributes to winning. He is still widely inconsistent though. As everyone has noted, a coaching change could benefit our whole team a bunch -- which of course includes Green.

Motor and motivation wasn't really something that was ever questioned for Jalen until this season.

That's the thing. This team mostly only wins especially against good teams when he's balling out.

They won A LOT when he wasn't playing at all, 7 in a row, best basketball the team has played in several years.

Last year when he had that bad stretch and his hammy injury was much worse around here.

This is just allround frustration pertaining to Stone, Silas, Ferntits and everything.

Sad thing about pro level sports like this. There is a fine balance between listening to all the criticism and trying to correct your flaws and being pressed so hard that when you are on the court you tense up from being afraid of making the wrong decision.

So much about basketball especially at this level is about instinct, muscle memory and flow. Being tensed up from fear of failing is just going to snowball all the problems. I hope that doesn't happen to Green.

Like Green needs to shore up his shot selection but at the same time not be hesitant and second guess his shots because that's how you miss more. It's a hard balance. You have to have confidence in your game to excel. Right now Green is not confident. His shots aren't quick release. He seems hesitant and then that's when he starts making mistakes

One thing I want to see Jalen do when he's fighting through screen or defending a perimeter player is....

Foul more. Like at least it'll show you are putting effort. A player is about to beat you, ****ing scratch, push, pull, arm bar etc, knee the screener in their thigh, do what it takes. It's okay to get 3-4 foul calls against you. At least you are showing you care. Just fight on defense even if you are out of position or being out muscled. ****ing shove someone, do something.

I'd rather Jalen be labeled a dirty player on defense than someone who puts in no effort on defense.
