Mass Shootings by State 2023 (worldpopulationreview.com) The lowest have zero (Hawaii, Idaho, New Hampshire, Wyoming, and North Dakota). Murder Rate by State 2023 (worldpopulationreview.com) Looks like New Hampshire (where open and concealed carry without a permit is allowed) has the lowest murder rate.
The Monterey Park shooting is awful. I'm not going to comment about what this says about gun control or anything else until we know more about the shooter and how they got their weapon(s).
The 4 states with highest suicide rate are on your list. I understand that depression is bad in Alaska.

The highest states are also red states. Except New Mexico. I guess depression is pretty high in red states too.
Asians aren't immune from mental illness or criminal behavior. Also the shooter in Las Vegas was elderly too.
last May, this Asian man in his 70s, mentally disturbed, shot a church goer in the OC, https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...nese-immigrant-shoots-taiwanese-folks.315821/
It's going to be pretty much be right wing pundits. The right wing uses the "model immigrant" narrative to criticize the black community for their wealth disparity and crime disparity.
This is one of the reasons why even as an Asian I'm against the "Model Minority" stereotype. It holds Asians to an unrealistic standard and reduces Asians to a monolithic block. During the V-Tech shooting carried out by a Korean American there were calls that the Asian community and even South Korea should apologize for the actions of the shooter. Being Asian had nothing to do with him being deeply disturbed and diagnosed with mental illness. I don't think anyone felt that being white was responsible for the Sandy Hook or Aurora, CO shooter and I don't recall anyone saying being Hispanic was responsilbe for the Uvalde shooter.
