I think it’s funny people trying to be smart fading demeco. You’re not smart … he was a head coach as a player and has proven he can coach at a high level as a TOP DC. Getting demeco is the best case scenario. The fact he is a Houston legend is just icing on the cake
Can the Texans come to an official agreement with DeMeco Ryans if the 49ers are still in the playoffs? Or is only interviewing him allowed?
Can’t make an official announcement until the Niners are out the playoffs. Think of it as not allowing a head coach to help coach another team.
How did he prove himself as one of the best DCs? All he had to do was not screw up what Saleh put in place.
Got it. Hopefully if there is mutual interest the "deal" doesn't fall through. Then the Texans would be stuck looking for someone else after all of the other candidates are already hired.
Pretty sure being a good DC involves week to week game-planning and making adjustments. You don't just run a system. The 49ers halftime adjustments, in particular, have been insanely good this year. I think they went like 5 straight games without allowing a point after halttime?
This…but honestly if you watched demeco play here and don’t understand why he should be the coach you should probably just pick another subject cause you look foolish. As a teenager I remember just being blown away at how he coached the defense from the field AS A PLAYER…from day 1. He would make sure everyone was in their spots and even call adjustments on the field. I can’t tell you how many times players praised him and gave him credit for things he did on the field. It had always stuck with me. The dude just has “IT”
I love how on Twitter some are saying Shane Steichen is calling and outstanding game and how we should hire him but ignore the shutout Johnathan Gannon is doing with his defense Giants just look outright overmatched.. Don’t think we should over analyze anything from this stinker
DeMeco, Gannon, or even Steichen will be great for the Texans. Just don't get hype up and fall into the Kafka trap.
It's down to Demeco and Steichen for me since Ben Johnson went back to Det. Last year the Texans made the 'head coach' hire by Feb 7th.
Is this a reflection on his interview with the Texans, or more a realization that interviewing the day of a playoff game was dumb to begin with? Edit:seems like the dumb logistics angle.
