"Excuses" has become a weird 4-letter word. Honestly legitimate explanations for behavior ARE excuses. Because they can excuse that behavior. Sometimes it's really hard to say what's legitimate or not, but your argument is empty. Can you say why his explanation ("excuses") do or do not make sense to you? Because they make sense to me... It's a lot easier to score efficiently with James Harden than with KPJ.
22 ppg on 50% ts. There was a chunk of Jalen Green's rookie season where he averaged 22 ppg on 60% ts. Actually it was like half the season. And he didn't have Harden....or Embid and was 2 years younger. Jalen Green had a chunk (November 13 games) this season where he averaged 23 and 5 apg on 60% ts and that was the month we were beating teams like the Bucks and Sixers and he didn't have Harden.... Or Embid and was 2 years younger.
I am sure it is not , at least not in the way it is exercised now. He doesn't have long arms, or height and he drops back to give an open shot. There is no coverage, just dropping. Almost certain that the next coach will change that right away.
Just because it makes sense to you doesn’t mean it’s not an excuse. One can make the argument it’s harder to score when you have two heliocentric players with heavy usage. You and dipshit are basically saying Green doesn’t have the ability to be efficient because of KPJ. The ability to shoot, score and facilitate efficiently isn’t completely dependent on others. If it is, you aren’t a star or potential star. Regardless, I wouldn’t trade Green for Maxey. Age and contract play into that. But, there is absolutely no denying Maxey is a better player than Green right now. The dipshit said KPJ has a higher upside than Maxey. That’s just dumb, and you know it. Or you should
Maxey and KPJ have almost the same ts% with Porter taking significantly more off the dribble contested looks.
Are you seriously cherry picking a small amount of games to help your argument? You just can’t be anything but disingenuous, can you. Have a little objectivity
55 and 57 are not the same. Maxey averages 5.9 attempts on pull ups on 39.6 % KPJ averages 7.1 attempts on pull ups on 37.4% Green averages 7.2 attempts on 34.6%
Pull ups? Is that the only type of offense? What about beating your guy off the dribble and getting the paint? Green and Tyrese ts% is 3 percentage points apart with Green having significantly worse shooting splits. Why? Because he is a far more talented player on offense outside of shooting. KPJ has a 70% unassisted fgm rate. Maxey is at 40%. Green at 62%. Green can have one hot shooting month which he has before and his ts% going back to around 55% on much difficult shot profile than Maxey.
lol I'm literally replying to you saying Maxey had a good stretch without Harden. I showed you a stretch Green had without Harden in his rookie year which is 2 months and this year which is one month where he was hovering around 60% ts on high volume. So we know he can do it. He just needs to be more consistent and in a more structured offense.
Sengun is currently our best player, but he's not a franchise player. However, that's not reason not to run the offense through him.
How is this my conjecture? Joel literally said that himself in the interview, isn't that what the whole conversation is about. The whole point is about Joel wanting to diversify his game so he doesn't bang in the low post every possession like people suggest he should do. He's obviously making a conscious effort to do this because double teams in the post have historically given him headaches. Maybe by magic, he's no longer posting up as much that's why he's overall more efficient on offense. You quite stupidly called him selfish because he doesn't like double teams or something dumb, which is a ridiculous statement. We made a whole bunch of changes to stop Harden from being trapped on a PnR on double teams, is that because Harden is selfish? I don't even know why it's a controversial statement to diversify one's offensive tools when it's clearly working right before your eyes. A modern big man who wants to run more PnR, and high post, what a selfish player.
