I would like to see a veteran PG (TJ McConnell?) next to green in our lineup together with Sengun-Smith- Eason. and KMJ and KPJ as our Bench mob leaders. This would help to develope our young guys to play with the right attitude. Esp to give them structure, decrease TO etc
Sengun is basically Luis Scola a Super skilled offensive player but do to physical limitations is pretty poor on defense and other teams will take advantage of that. There is a reason that NO NBA TEAM ever built around Luis Scola - he was a complimentary piece.....that fit with others....if you want the blueprint for how Sengun should be used, it is Luis Scola - IMHO, he is not Jokic. DD
You can still run the offense through Sengun, doesn't mean he's our franchise player or player to build around. Just basically our point guard. He's the best decision maker on the team.
if we go all in we may win if we dont go all in its 100% we dont win so you tell me you wanna win them rings or just postponing your life indefinitely until you die... things will never ever be perfect not even wemby is perfect he has a lot of flaws people are just learning about him and under the spell of hype now is the time to go all in and win the ring not only to build...its corona time its volatile years anyone can win...so take your best shot! nba may even stop to exist in a few years... so stop pretending its risky... EVERYTHING IS RISKY there simply isnt any player in the world that isnt a huge risk to build around if anything alpi is not a risk healthwise and skillwise
Scola never had the post game of Sengun or more importantly the BBIQ and vision that allows an offense to be run through him. That is a very bad comparison IMHO. It is the BBIQ and vision that set Senfun apart and make a thread like this even possible and is also why over 61% see the amazing possibilities of making Sengun the hub to build around.
Total bullshit. Sengun is bigger, more athletic, already a better defensive player, much better passer. He is a 3 point shot and a better coach away from being a perennial all-star. As usual, your assessment of basketball talent is abysmal.
He's really not that bad defensively. No one knows who to guard or how to guard and of course the blame will fall on the center. He's also more athletic than we give him credit for. He has slammed it on quite a few people this season and last. You don't have to go all out and build around Sengun, there's no need to. He'll just fit in with his abilities. Wait. I mean Sengun bad..Sengun need traded.
Sengun - going all in, would ya? This topic is better suited for the **** forum, there I said it!! Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
Rockets should actually trade Sengun His value around the league is perceived to be higher than the Rockets apparently value him, writers and scouts and podcasters love him, so that right there is a good reason to believe current Rockets mgmt would be able to find a trade they'd be happy with. Contrast this with Green or Porter, who probably are valued much lower by the rest of the league. Nobody's going to give much value for them. Nobody wants KPJ. And by putting Green on the block you basically depress his value to Marvin Bagley levels. No point in that. As for the defense/long term issues, the Iko/Vecenie piece laid them out today in detail. It's as bad as it looks, he's small, slow, and can't guard inside and outside, and a few steals or blocks here and there aren't enough to make up for it. Probably not going to be anything other than a liability, but why wait for that to be proven to be true to trade him. That said i don't hate Sengun and find him one of the only enjoyable players on the team to watch currently - i still think the permanent supersub idea is great but whatever.
Lol there are literally articles by major NBa publications like the Athletic that have Green AND Jabari as higher asset levels. There is even a debate amongst them if Sengun even belongs in the same convo as Green and Jabari as franchise centerpieces. People confuse praising polish with ceiling. Sengun is polished. Multiple pro years does that. You are really out of touch and confuse WHAT people are praising Sengun for. People still see Jalen as the higher ceiling player league wide. Sengun is the most mistake free player out of a team full of 19-22 year olds.
Oh jeez there's "literally articles by major publications like the Athletic" - you mean like this one, in the very post you're quoting? I swear Chat GPT takes longer than you do to mash that Post Reply button bro. On the trade market, the Rockets need to find 1 GM)team - a greater fool, if you will - who thinks they can build around Sengun - that doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility because a lot of people really love Sengun in a way they don't like our other strugglers like Green et al. Therefore sell high.
Unless Alpi takes a massive leap in defensive ability, he isn't a guy you build your whole team around. I do think we need to learn to play through him better though. While integrating this team into some semblance of cohesion will make every player better, Alpi's game could benefit the most. Having guys when and where they are supposed to be on the court will make a distribution guy rich!
How did this trade Green **** even start? Was it DD? It's very obvious when you post sincere thoughts and thoughts meant to illicit a "trigger". You are the right wing edgelord you hate.
Yes, DD has been posting trade Green for weeks - that's why i brought it up. It's a dumb idea, for reasons stated - his external value is probably lower than what the Rockets have on him. Not meant to elicit a trigger. Meant to forestall the "why trade Sengun when you can trade Green" argument that was made by OP.
No it really isn't. I guess I'm at fault for actually bringing a tangible example of a large NBA media publication saying what I'm expressing while the onus isn't on you at all besides just making the claim out of your ass.
I have no idea what you're even talking about. I think the Rockets should be open trading Sengun because he's probably the most valuable player they have. Green is probably not as valuable due to his recent half season slump. Reasonable minds can differ. That has nothing to do with you. The onus is on you now! Am i doing it right?
