I know it sounds ridiculous but i would permanently make Sengun into a Ginobili type 6th man of the year and buy budget players to fit around him to whip up on teams in the second and third periods.

Sometimes you have to zig plus it would annoy the SOFs

LOL I had that thought as well, and I do think that is a great way to contrast styles which make the team better if others matchup with your main style, you can always hit with the other....well thought good sir.

I liked it so much I added that as an option to the poll and think that is what I would do.

Unless it’s to get a chance at a 2nd shot, shooting early on the clock is not advisable.

I'm a 100% no, i don't think it's possible to build a championship level team around a center who sucks on defense. I'd try to build up his value and see what you could get for him next year. I doubt you'll be able to fleece a team the way indy was about to fleece the kings, but there's enough teams who only dream of making the playoffs that you could get a good amount for him.

Remember when Josh Smith came in and basically played like he was on a completely different team in a different league on a different planet in 2015 and it.... worked? For 2 playoff series?

One of them was one of the funnest ever. The game 4 alley oop fest in Dallas was just hilarious.

Good times (unless you were Dirk)

Alp is a great Robin I think. He’s the best young player on the team and someone to keep/build around.

Just to clarify, he is not 6’9. He is over 6’10 and an average athlete.

I like this post, BUILD around Sengun. He needs 3 pointers and a Power Forward to help him with defense. I would love to have Mo Bamba on this team. I would trade a 2nd and give them Tate and Mathew, Mathew is a good shooter, and they need shooters for Bancheros. Mo Bamaba is a Big Man but he is athletic enough to cover a 4 and is a nice 3 point shooters. If we get Wemby, Sengun is Center, Wemby is PF and Jabari at SF.
    Stone,
Please get Mo Bamba, Orlando is trying to trade him. Get him and we will forgive you making us watch Nix at point guard this season.

Definitely think we should build around him and Green. Get rid of KPJ and we'll see exactly what we have. Take out the trash

He is tall enough just too slow of foot and not long enough to be that way...nor is he a twitch athlete to get up quick and bother shots at the apex.

This is not a knock on him he is a really good player - elite on offense but on D, he is just not very good.

I agree. He’s not great on defense. But I don’t think it’s something that can’t be fixed.
He’s still a better defender than Green and KPJ

It can't be fixed, teams will drag him out to switching situations and he is too slow to get back.....he will be unplayable against good teams in the playoffs.

Why don't you want Green AND Kpjr playing off Sengoonie? KPJ's strongest qualities compliment this quite nicely.

It absolutely can be fixed. He’s not a finished product physically for one. Second, he’s not stuck in mud like you think. Footwork on offense is more than quick enough, it needs to translate on defense.
Also, switch defense ratings don’t back up what you’re saying.

My preference would be that they both play off of him - but we really need more D on the perimeter and both KPJ and Green are not great on D, so either they both get a lot better or 1 needs to go....either one....and we replace him with a 3 and D player.

Please give me an example of a slow footed big guy that is undersized at 6'9" at center that has excelled on both offense and defense.

My closest comparison for him is Scola - is there one you have that shows that defensive improvement?

Any of you thinking a defensive minded center is going to make this defense good are just willfully ignorant.
There isn’t a single good defensive player in the starting lineup. Rather it’s youth, system, buy in or a combination of all, it’s not working and there is not communication or cooperation.

    I don’t know who you’re talking about .
Sengun is neither slow or 6’9

All true, but please name one slow footed 6'9 or 10" center that has come in as a low post scorer and excelled on defense - with below average foot speed?

And Sengun is VERY slow.....he is a plodder. Feel free to disagree, but I think most here see it.
