^ this. The fact that we CFers like Mikal is the same reason why Suns like him. He's almost untouchable, unless Rockets offer up a Green/Jabari potential player, Jones may pause and think, he might even refuse since Bridges fits their timeline and is win now; unless he thinks he could flip HOU's assets. They like Gordon, but they're not gutting one of their core: Bridges just to get rid of Crowder.

I'd give up any combo of two young players excluding Green/Smith/Sengun plus a pick for OG. He's one of the best defenders in the entire NBA who can also provide offense. Even better if we got to keep Eason/Tyty.

Ideally include Garuba who would have a better chance of reaching the best version of himself there.

I know the contract situation is complicated but any KPJ/Tate/Garuba would be ideal.

Raptors wouldn't even do that deal for Gary Trent. Let's be realistic here. Raptors rejected the 6th pick last year for him. Why would they take our junk like KPJ and Garuba?

    I don't disagree that it's unlikely.

I also wouldn't call some combination of KMJ, TyTy, Eason junk -- although certainly not = to 6th pick. It seems they're going to shift from trying to compete in the playoffs to tanking if they want to trade OG for young pieces/picks. Last year they had playoffs in mind.

Players like KPJ get thrown into deals like that -- see Collin Sexton in the Donovan deal.

I'd overpay for OG too btw.

It's worth exploring. Not really sure what we could offer that would be out other teams without dipping into Green/Smith/Sengun...... it would definitely have to be Eason but not sure who else? KMJ?

I tried several different combinations and couldn't get it to work until this one.

    Tate, Eason, Christopher for Anunoby

Would this and Milwaukee's pick get it done? I doubt it.

It is an interesting thought bubble to consider what one would do if we ended up with Wembanyama.
For me I'd have interest in a Sengun for OG swap. (In the off season our cap space will absorb the salary difference). It would at least be worth discussing. Toronto have run the offense through Siakim at C this year, it might be a coup for them

I'd definitely do that but I think Raptors would ask for more picks or a premier pick to get that done

That's probably what it would realistically take to get OG... I know clutchfans would lose their minds...

It could work for both teams, even though it would be painful to watch Sengun be a force in Toronto with a great coach, system, GM, long versatile defenders...
It could work out for us to have one of the best defenders next to Green/Smith/2023 draft pick. It has regret potential, but could payout too.

Nope, keep your hands off Sengun. Now, the Tari, Tate and Christopher might work or you might have to include TyTy. Maybe TyTy, Christopher, Tari and 1st round pick and a 2 round pick

It is an impossible scenario salary wise right now

If you're talking about doing this in the off-season it might work from a salary perspective. But I can't think why the Raptors would be at all interested in taking our junk for OG.

Also, in the hypothetical scenario that we draft Vic, you would really not be interested in moving Sengun for an elite, thicc wing defender who spaces the floor? Is having Alpy play 15m off the bench really that important? I think that would be unfair to him, he needs the chance to develop his game

I do think Victor/Sengun/Smith could work, but I think a Victor/Smith/OG would be terrifying on defense while still having a great offense. Definitely not an easy decision for me personally and I respect if people are yay or nay to this one

Due to the risk of being flamed, I can't express an opinion on why I think the 2nd would be vastly superior.
But missing Vic would probably kill the thought bubble!!

I’d absolutely include Smith in a deal for OG.

    3 team trade

    Houston in: O.G, holmes, hernangomez
Houston out: tate, kmj, tari, bkn 24 1st

Houston outlook: get an absolute stud of a 3 to help anchor the defense on the wing. Starts the process of getting win now pieces and veterans but OG is stiill young enough to fit our timeline. We do have to sacrifice a bkn pick and take on a bad contract but we have that ability

    Sacremento in: gordon
Sacremento out: richaun holmes, davion mitchell

Sacremento outlook: get a win now veteran to help with their push to finally being in the playoffs, which is their priority. You give up on davion, whos fallen out of favor, while shedding holmes bad contract.

Toronto in: tate, kmj, tari, davion, bkn 24 1st
    Toronto out: O.G, hernangomez

Toronto outlook: get 4 talented players on team friendly contracts including a former recent top 10 pick in davion. Also get a legit lottery ticket in the unprotected brooklyn 1st with a situation that can implode at any given moment.

I like the trade. You then fill in with what makes sense after you draft another guard or center in the draft. With someone like Kyle Lowry or Mike Connely (cheaper options with then capability to overspend on another position) off the bench for a year or two. I wish Chris Paul's contract was for only 2 more years. Someone like that backing up Scoot Henderson

Scoot Henderson / GOOD VET PG Connely/Paul/Lowry/Harden etc (any of them on a two year contract
    Jalen Green
    O.G.
    Jabari Smith
    Myles Turner

mix of vets and remaining young players after trades.

regardless I think a trade for a player like this someone good on defense, a vet PG, and overpay for another decent to good player in their mid to late 20's, a coaching change at the end of the season, hopeful improvement for Sengun and Green with all of these aforementioned moves to better facilitate that.

hopefully, get this ship turned around next season. an infusion of talent like Vic or Scoot along with those moves you could surprise the whole NBA. or... heads will roll

If we get Wemby, Wemby would play PF, Sengun at Center and Jabari at SF. Jabari handles are getting better and he is getting better driving to the basket. Wemby should be like Mobley with Cleveland he should play at PF because he is too light in the pants to handle Centers. You know they're going to be big players trying to pound him around the goal. He is playing elite now because he is play on the perimeter, but these NBA players is going to get real physical with him. Cleveland was smart and place Mobley at PF and I bet OKC will have Holmgren at PF next year to protect him. HaHa.....there are going to be players trying to bully and hurt him.....it just the NBA.

Sengun right now (only 2nd year) is the 7th best center in the NBA?

Top Centers in the league are Embiid, Jokic, Sabonis, Abebayo, Ayton and Turner.
After that tier it is Sengun!! Sengun will be better that Turner next year, and once Sengun create an outside shot, he will be better than Abebayo and Ayton. If Sabonis is a solid defender Sengun can be a solid defender as well. They are pretty much the same size and vertical, Sengun just needs to work on his shot, do not have lazy feet on defense and hit the weight room. Sengun is a better player in his second year than Sabonis's 2nd year or 3rd year. We have a special player and next year he will be an all-star, 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists a game.

This would be good. I would try to hold onto Eason and add another 1st. Eason can learn a lot from OG.
