    This is telling.

They are the guy at the traffic light spinning the sign for a free phone that no one wants.

At least the Texans weren't first for DeMeco...there's a chance?

How is this telling? Is this a sign we’re be the last to pick are coach again? We can agree regardless of how we feel about the organization this coaching cycle feels different than the previous past seasons

If the Texans pay a kings ransom for Payton they are fools. Which means they will probably do it.

Wanting and getting are 2 different things.

    I could see 2-33 this yr and a 2024 1st.

    Or straight up 1-12.

    Why not Gannon anymore?

I want to see the proposed staff Demeco intends to bring in before I make this call.

    Typical Texans move.

Tunsil….2 1st’s to set us back a couple years….”sure..NO PROBLEM!”

“Coach that doesn't play…2 1st’s that you got for Deshaun Watson…sure….NO PROBLEM!”

“Oh, you want us to help you rebuild while we’re in the beginning stage of our own rebuild, Saints? …sure….NO PROBLEM!”

“Oh, you want $20 mill a year too, Sean…NO PROBLEM.”

    *face palm*

By all accounts the other teams that have openings are willing to do the same thing ;)

I wouldn’t give up 2 1st but are the Texans really that crazy for going for a commodity that others want also? We b**** about going after guys like Hines Ward and Mccown but complain when they go all in on a Super Bowl winning coach?

The Saints can ask for (2) 1st’s, hell they might even get it, but more than likely that’s them setting a high initial price to be negotiated down. It also could reflect Carolina’s late interest in Payton, a division rival trying to hire the Saints former coach. (2) picks very well could be a non-negotiable price for a Saints division rival like The Panthers. Switching to Demeco, it’s not like the 49’ers defense wasn’t tops in the NFL before he was promoted DC, granted he’s been part of the defensive assistants staff since 2017. That Niners roster has been almost consistently talented up and down the roster since Harbaugh walked the sidelines a decade ago…… a lot of draft capital that was well spent. Just look at the success Brock Purdy is having right now on the other side of the ball

There are options the don't require picks.

    TAKE ANY ONE OF THOSE!

I literally don't care who (tho, I am team DeMeco)

Texans are in a rebuild for itself….not the Saints.

David Culley is avaiable. And since the Texans are still paying him anyway, it wouldn't actually cost anything.

You can have to 5th round picks and like it, Saints. Any requests of 1st or 2nd rounders, you should just pass on Payton.
That leaves just Demeco for me. Please Dre, make it happen.

True, but coaching in the NFL matters a **** ton more than any other sport. Demeco’s coaching and leadership ability isn’t a fluke.

I get it and I agree! All I’m saying is it really that bad going after Sean even if that mean giving up assets?? Seems like you believe it is :D

I don’t want defense. Unless they can bring someone awesome as OC. And Demeco is just going to bring a Quarterbacks coach or something. Only defense guy would be Gannon if he can bring Frank Reich as OC. Steichen seems like a good option as well.
