Sean Payton QUIT on the Saints.

Sean Payton was suspended for an entire season!

Soon as the Saints had to start rebuilding he was *pyooooon*

He wasn't sh*t without Brees…which is why he *ahem* “retired”.

Texans have too many damn holes to be giving away able bodies for a coach that never did anything without a HOF QB.

    Not worth it.

Hopefully the Texans do the right thing and pass…

Good for Ben and good for Detroit to keep him. Unlike the Texans, Detroit sees something good happening and wants to continue it.

I wouldn’t give up 2 first round picks for any coach. Current or former. If that’s the price, pass.

Saints were actually pretty damn good when using random scrub QBs. I think he went 5-0 with Bridgewater. Did pretty well starting the likes of Winston and Hill too.

Two first rounders for Peyton is steep.
I say pass to many questions. Did he make Breese, or did Breese make him???
He left NO in cap hell, although I think he had urging from owner to push all of the chips in.
Can he develop young talent or does he need star level Free Agents??

I suspect two first rounders is a pipe dream on NO's part, but I think we have to be prudent with our picks and play the long game. And, hope we draft well.

On a side note I would not want to be the person who negotiates the contracts for the Texans in 4 years. All these younglings will be coming off rookie contracts going back to last year.

From a value perspective, an elite coach (Belichick, Reid, etc) is as hard or harder to find than an elite QB. And just as impactful if not more so, never gets injured, and doesn't count against the salary cap. And people pay 2 1st round picks or more all the time for elite QB's.

Not necessarily Payton is the right guy, but if you could get Andy Reid for 2 first round picks (maybe 5-10 years ago when he was younger), people would be crazy not to jump on that.

We will never know but it’s extremely unlikely Brees is a HOF without Payton.

Bridgewater is not a scrub and would start for the Texans.

Winston had the arm talent, was a pick machine, but still had potential…i don't categorize him as a scrub either.

Hill is a gimmick and not a sustainable, long term QB solution.

He’s Ron Brown, wildcat type plays at best.

Did Payton use table scraps and keep head above water…sure….but his greatest success with with Brees and conveniently once Brees left, Payton left.

That tells me all I need to know on who was who.

Bridgewater is a lesser Fitzpatrick. Not a scrub but not a starter. Winston was overrated, a never was.

And yet, none of them can get starting jobs anywhere in the NFL.

Isn't that the case for every coach ever? I would think every coach has their greatest successes when they have their best talent.

Who are all the super-successful coaches who did it without talent?

Texans: "We're willing to give up two first rounders for Sean Payton."

Also the Texans, 2 weeks later: "Welcome your new head coach Josh McCown. In lieu of continuity, Josh has decided to keep Pep Hamilton on as OC."

    Rinse and repeat.

I see whats going on here…

    News reports:

“We want TWO 1st round picks”

    “He want’s $20 Million a year”

They are trying to scare the Texans off asking for the most outlandish isht possible.

If he's smart, which he damn sure isn't, he'd take his talents to South Beach.. Might **** around and start half the season there.

Hopefully Texans don't get tie up with the Saints over their bullsh!t asking price of Payton and miss out on DeMeco, Gannon, or other coaches. If Saints asking price is true...Texans needs to move on and focus on someone else. Let Broncos and Panthers deal with the Saints
