AH! If I am alpi I am asking these 2 to help me with Silas and Stone also them paying visit to green and kpj wouldnt hurt noone....
Another great step for Alpi, great game. These last 3-4 games have been immensely beneficial to his development. I really wish we could/would start a PG while Sengun runs the offense. It's so much more difficult without a PG, there are no other playmaking C's in the league asked to do that. Good job Alpi. I really like about Sengun that he treats everything like a good teammate in interviews. He always praises the team and when things aren't good he says "we" instead of blaming anyone in front of the media (accountability is for the locker room and court). Always hopeful. That's important when everyone feels down. Sidenote: given how much he spins on the court I'm shocked his nickname is not The Whirling Dervish lol
im pretty sure if the head honcho was playing u wouldn't get these types of performance from sengun on a daily basis.
It would be less likely but having these performances puts KPJ and the coaching staff on the spot, forcing them to respect him more. Even makes the refs respect him more. He's doing a great job taking advantage of these opportunities, doing what's in his control. Even if he handles the ball less when KPJ returns, he will be an improved player and that's the most important thing for this season.
I love how the last few games on offense he's seemingly picked up the pace and fluidity of his post moves. He's taken away the defense's ability to adjust for him and plan for him just by speeding up a little. Nobody in the league has an answer for his post game defensively at all. I said it last season and I'll say it again "when everybody zigs, you want to be the one who zags." The league's been so focused on spacing, layups and threes (copycats) for the last few years that post defense is a lost art at this point. It's going to take them a little time to adjust to his game, and by the time they figure it out he'll likely have more range and be even harder to stop regardless.
Feels like ALP should have at least 20 shots a game. So consistent, unstoppable, smart, etc. Just need Jalen and Co to play defense and they could win a lot of games.
He can do a lot better. Which is amazing, considering he had 24 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 1 block on 10-16 shooting and with a +2 +/-. What he needs are competent teammates and a system and a coach that gets the entire team to play decent defense. Imagine adding a Chris Paul and a Wembanyana to this team, subtracting Silas, KPJ, Nix.
A basic rule of any forum is "don't feed the trolls". Do you want to identify a troll? Easy, they ask to trade two young players who haven't even completed their second year in the league but love another player who was discarded by the Cavaliers and who wouldn't be a starting PG on any team in this league.
said it right after the first summer league game...but no, they said breh its just a summer league nothing to fret about... to this day our system stayed the same...selfish chucking guards throwing bricks over the hands of defenders... so yeah even the summer league games matter!
