All of these missives are nakedly counterfeit and desperately needy—like someone who’s learned the contours of alt-right diction from an academic journal—but most pertinently, Musk is plainly not very funny. It is the eldritch truth that eats at his core—his Rosebud, if you will.
The funny thing is that it’s us centralists @Os Trigonum @Space Ghost @AroundTheWorld who got these woke lunatics so mad their internal compass can’t find right or left or up or down 99ers 4 life @j.r.
It is pretty good! Someone unfamiliar with all that might correctly adduce that the “my pronouns” bit has to do with the reactionary campaign against trans and nonbinary people, which has become a favorite topic of Musk’s cohort of renegade free-thinkers; they have adopted this particular wan gag as their signal and indeed only joke. Such a reader might well wonder what any of that has to do with COVID-19 or the recently retired figurehead of the (also recently retired) federal response to the pandemic. Even by the miserable standards of mushing-two-recognizable-things-into-one gags that has long defined Twitter’s Mendoza Line, it only barely scans as a joke. It’s Left Shark saying “Covfefe,” or a meme of Jennifer Coolidge in The White Lotus with the words BEAN WIFE over it in Impact font. It is, as the worst posts tend to be, not just embarrassing but somehow implicating to read. In the ways in which Musk’s post is topical, it absolutely sucks ass; it’s strident and stupid and unfinished, a very low-impact and low-energy entry all around. In every other sense, from basic effort to basic craft, it is equally embarrassing. As such, it is very much in keeping with Musk’s personal posting style, which has in recent months come to resemble that of an AI bot that had been fed only the nouns from Glenn Greenwald’s Do you have any comparable goodness from Musk or is he just ... not funny at tweeting
Its entirely subjective. You can’t tell someone what is explicitly funny without assuming you know comedy in its entirety, your taste is the only taste and you assume to know the point of reference of every other human being in earth. It’s quite arrogant. I think he’s been funny at times but maybe I’m just a stupid idiot with no brain or the right to have thoughts and impulses. What difference does it make if he’s funny anyway? What is a sufficient answer that you are looking for? For me to think differently than I do? Send me more opinion pieces and maybe I’ll change my mind.
It makes a huge difference to Elon Musk that he is funny - he literally bought Twitter because of it. And that is indeed very funny! But not in the way he hoped. Anyway the best piece on him not being funny was from last week by a guy he tried to pay to be funny and pretend to be him on Twitter but the guy was zonked out on heroin during the interview - now that's funny. That was a quality article, and this is a quality tweet:
Who cares? Your idea of a quality article is an opinion piece on whether someone is funny or not on twitter. There is no substance here.
The lack of substance is the guy who has been able to provide a single funny Elon Musk tweet - other than proffering "should i resign" as an example. I mean the "should I resign" poll was kind of funny, not for the tweet, but because he lost when he thought he would win and then tried to ignore it and then pouted about it.. It's guy gets inadvertently hit in the nuts with a football level of funny (he is the guy who got hit in the nuts in this analogy)
It seemed fairly obvious he didn’t want twitter and made a mistake. It was a funny way to resign. Should I hate him for making a mistake? That’s what we do right? I don’t see what the big deal is. Talk about something with substance and we might actually agree on some things
You actually want everyone to uniformly agree with you on subjective things like humor or tweets. Amazing. Ok great. For the sake of this argument I’ll agree with you because frankly I’m not really that invested in musk. I don’t even partake in twitter because it is a very dumb website filled with dumb people. So we’ve established a dude who probably has Aspergers isn’t funny or good at tweeting even though it’s subjective. What now? Is there something more pertinent or does it just mask the insecurity of your own mediocrity?
While his tweets might be lacking, Elon BUYING twitter for a whopping $45B was pretty funny. Actions speak louder than words.
They hate everything that is NOT WHITE (unless you sold out to their beliefs), heterosexual (lots of people in the closet), foreign (of color), and as long as you fake Christian beliefs...you are good.
So you don’t like elon musk because his tweets aren’t funny. Nothing tangible. Got it. You should probably read more opinion pieces to validate your opinion. Seems like the only sensible thing left to do
Some people hate minorities, some people hate success. Everyone is a victim and everyone blames someone or something else for their own mediocrity. Too much hate and hateful rhetoric. One of the reasons I bailed on USA and never looked back
