Green had amazing weeks also with social media buzz like the weeks they were beating good teams with Jalen being our best player during that stretch. Hell Jazz commentators even during this horrid shooting slump all in acknowledgment agreed that Green has higher upside than Ja Morant which I don't even believe.

 

I like Green, but Alpi is our franchise player.

Even if we get Wemby. Alpi is better. But they should be able to play well together.

 

I'm glad it's people like this that dismiss Green. It makes me more confident in my outlook.

Its a "what have you done for me lately" type of fanbase. So easy to forget that Jalen has had similar hype and moments that leave analysts breathless. It sucks that he's in a hell of a slump and that his defense is as bad as it is, but you can see the hysteria when people try to say that Sengun will undoubtedly be better long term without even a second thought. 2 years from now we shall see how the dust settles.

Sengun better than Wemby????? LMAO in what way? JFC so hard to take these guys serious.

 

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have Wemby on the team. He could be an amazing player. But the jury is out on him becoming the next Lebron James or something. He might be injury prone at that height, he is rail thin. Clearly, he seems to be a good outside shooter and a very good shot blocker (which he should be at that height). But I doubt he could ever have the nifty footwork of Alpi, and whether he has the soft touch around the rim, I don't know.

He plays in a league that is inferior to the league Alpi dominated as an 18-year old, and his stats are good, but not otherworldly. He did very well in some high profile matches, e.g. that show game vs. Scoot Henderson. He also dominated Chet Holmgren at some point.

Best case, he could become someone like KD with better shot blocking, if he can stay healthy.

He could be very complementary to Alpi - they have very different strengths. But Alpi is the one with the otherworldly basketball IQ. That's what you should build around.

 

A simple yet BRILLIANT OBSERVATION that everyone should have been able to make on condition that they don't allow the daily omnipresent hype bombardment to fog their minds...

 

Sengun doesn't have otherworldly basketball IQ. He's just on a team surrounded by guys with much less pro experience. His assist efficiency numbers would be much higher if he was "other worldly".

Once the edict comes down to protect a certain player like Sengun it gets easier.

and who knows perhaps he will be better than alpi, anything is possible, but it takes a lot of insight boldness and courage to go against the grain and take alpi over him..it takes someone who really doesnt care what others think and has his own light and well adjusted compass

i never rally watched wemby but just based on a huge hype i feel hes nothing special... it always ends up like that..i never watched JG highlights except for 30 seconds or so and i just knew hed be a meh player... cause he did nothing special it was all in peoples heads and i saw 1000s of the athletic freaks go nowhere before...

nothing really hes just put some nice stats and was able to win only when on the superstacked team that has won before and after him with almost average nba players as his replacement...

durant is one of the most overrated players ever...just like ppl overrated dunking and athleticism before now being 7 footer that can shoot 3 is grossly overrated(eg embied) and almost useless and counterproductive

 

What are assist efficiency numbers? Not sure what stats these are but I'd like to look at them
