It has nothing to do with what he said. Even if that were to be true right, why would the coach tell John Wall that he disagrees with the approach? Clearly the coach wanted to play Wall which is whatever but the bigger issue is that Silas is not in control of the rotations and minutes.

They do though. A washed scrub saying that the GM wanted him to come off the bench or not play is not news.... why wouldn't they come off the bench or not play? He doesn't belong on an NBA court, it's good the GM realized that even if Silas didn't.

    This is very true.

When you have no picks and no talent (and owe picks!) then 3 years of tanking is about the right amount. Oh, this is year 3?

Judge the results this time next year. The plan has been leading towards this moment

Because the coach is a moron. I'm not sure why that surprises anyone.

If he thinks Wall should start, he shouldn't be in control of anything.

He's just a placeholder here to absorb L's during rebuilding, he was never intended to be a real coach.

Once upon a time everyone was clamoring for KPJ to start instead of Wall when KPJ was the shiny new toy.

Nobody want Wall to play because he was a complete disaster the previous season only chucking shots and playing for himself.

People only turned on Porter last season

And we don't empower guys like Smith, Tate, and martin because ?

Stone tried to rebuild rockets reputation by sending guys to preferred destination but this is embarrassing.

Need a coach with balls , but would even Lucas or Hollins be allowed to discipline the young guys ?

Why are we so all in and blind on these guards.

Like you said Smith is not a problem . Him sengun , Tari, Tate, Matthew's, and Gordon if he's not having to play with low-effort teammates are all dogs .

Hopefully this little bit of negative publicity turns their heads straight . Somehow stone will take credit

Why hasn’t he league stepped in and stopped these clowns from tanking. JVG by the way would never tell a player he’s not playing because the GM said so. Hate hate hate Stone now and Silas is a weak puppet!!!

To be fair, Monte McNair is the dude that sold us KJ Martin for 1mill cash, right?

He has made some decent moves, but some headscratchers too. Inheriting a team that had been in the lottery for 14 years already (and in his 2 completed seasons has been again in the lottery and last in division). Prior to this year Kings fans were calling for his head!!

I'm not defending Stone, but it appears the requirement to be competitive commences next season, and he should be judged on that.

As for Wall's ramblings - he sees what he wants to see. Claims he was supposed to win with Justin Patton and co. But he started his time here with Harden, Gordon, Tucker, Wood, and his friend Cousins (Tate and House too). I believe the team was 11-10 before peeling off a 20 game losing streak.
They wanted him to quit and take his salary away so they could begin the rebuild - he stayed, and we are stuck until the coming off season to begin using cap space on free agents.

It may fail, but that is the time frame. I'll judge Stone on that timeframe

It isn't a good look for John Wall. He's not the first washed scrub to throw a tantrum thinking they deserve to play when they don't belong on a basketball court anymore.

Was it horrific? Seems like it’s a trade that benefited both teams. Very rare.

I’m not saying Monte is a great GM (I am biased). I simply said he had zero desire to work for Fertitta. He hated his time after Alexander left.

As I have said many times before, if the Rockets get Wemby, Henderson or possibly Thompson - it won’t matter that Stone has made mistakes.

It goes back to the question: Are they (TF, Stone, Silas) incompetent/dumb or are they conspiring to win the Wemby race.

I keep telling myself, nobody can be this dumb and incompetent. I mean, I can believe Tilman having no idea how to run a basketball team. But Stone and Silas both have been in the league for a long time. They might not be good head honchos but at least they should know what is good and what is bad for a team, right? So I tell myself, "This has to be some cunning scheme." But then, it's a pretty dumb idea to use a toxic culture to ensure losing. There are clearly less harmful ways to achieve a bottom losing record.

Conclusion: They are dumb whether they make this mess intentionally or unintentionally.

I mean maybe at this point it’s a D- trade instead of an F (I don’t think so, to me it’s a straight F), but they traded a far better younger player for a no defense older center. Will they get some meaningless wins? Sure, but in the long run it was catastrophic

Sabonis is 26. It’s not like he’s 35. They were sick of losing so I understand the deal now. Didn’t understand it then but you know the deal is great when both fanbase are happy.

If i was a kings fan, i would be even more livid now then i was last year. It’s one of the worst trades ever from a process standpoint. What is the point of sabonis? He does nothing for them, and will require a max.

I think it's telling that John Wall has such a low BBIQ chucker mentality that he legitimately believes he was the best player on the Rockets the 2020-2021 season simply because he had 20 points a game on 18 shots per game.

He wanted to keep chucking, thinking it was a good thing, but the team shut him down and now he's crying about it.
