This exactly. Tanking wise we are doing great. Player development is what is lacking... Rockets are convinced that one can't exist without the other. I'm fine if we are 3rd from last and yet we are still developing our players.
And in fact the odds aren’t much different finishing in the bottom 3 anyway, but the role player development plays in a rebuild is invaluable, and can actually mitigate bad draft luck.
i think trading 2 bad 1st rounders for Sengun and getting KPJ for a second rounder, are Stone’s best two moves. He also has maintained some cap for flexibility. I give him respect for that. However, it really feels like he’s mismanaged everything else and whether we have a bad culture or the narrative of having a bad culture, he’s directly responsible for that. And given his apparent input on playing time and positions, he’s also responsible for the poor player development, which is enormously important. He’s lost my confidence, which was iffy anyway given that he essentially decided to start our rebuild with Oladipo, Wood and KPJ.
Man please! They'll blog all damn day about Non-sense but this is REAL! Won't nothing be said about this.
I mean this really confirms that Silas isn't even allowed to coach and the GM is dictating who plays in order to lose games. Now all of a sudden watching the Clippers build a 15 point lead while several starters sit on the bench makes a lot of sense. We better hope the NBA doesn't investigate this.
I felt this was going on and I'm sure it still is. Silas is NOT that bad as a HC, this is coming from the top down. I use to be a Season ticketholder.....NOTICE I SAID "USE TO BE", because I felt they weren't trying to win, so why should I pay to go see my favorite team lose?
I actually feel bad for Silas now if any of this true. Nix played 37 mins the other game, how do we know that Silas WANTS to play Nix or any of these guys?
they’ve been telling us Stone is heavily involved in the rotation decisions, and is even involved in practice people just want to act like it’s all Silas
Sounds to me like Stone is "The Problem" and that Silas is pretty much handcuffed. This explains that they are trying to lose, it also explains the KPJ experiment, Nix getting minutes and the strange rotations, limited exposure for Segun, MVP Josh Christopher (@Williamson) hidden under the bench when he should be starting & Tyty being in RGV. The offensive numbers really favor Silas doing a very good job with shot quality despite the shooting percentage & KPJ dominating the ball .... I think it's quite obvious that Stone is maximizing his ping pong balls - being worst doesn't guarantee you the #1 overall but it does limit how far you can fall, guaranteeing a pick no worse than 5.
I think it's crazy that Silas doesn't make more of a fuss about it. I guess he has a good promise that he'll get a chance to actually coach the team whenever the organization decides they want to actually win games. People go on and on about how guys aren't improving...they don't even want them to improve lol. They are intentionally letting them fail because they don't want to win games. I would have been fine with losing games and the GM filling the team with young players knowing its unlikely they win many games...but stay out of the coach's business, let him coach the team and try to improve the team with the roster given him. Telling the coach who he can and cannot play is not going to give this organization any success, as we clearly see.
Just realized, the guy in the hoodie, is a family member of Chris Paul. When John Wall described his experience here as trash, you can hear him say “I know, I know”
This....... happens. It finally happened to us. If KPJ worked out this wouldn't be bad. This thread just confirms for me y'all agree that the KPJ experiment failed
hahahahaha cool! finally da weak ass GM got exposed. Look at past weeks shitty situation, he ain't even dare to step up n say something. So pathetic. Now i start feeling sorry for silas, under a 'shut up n listen' 'penny pinchy' boss n a yes-man GM, it's tough man…
