Japan has a much lower covid death rate than the US simply because it handled it much better plus there is trust in the government. Japan doesn't necessarily have to go through strict covid restrictions when the Japanese public listens to their government. They have a very simple message known as the "Avoid the Three Cs" that many others try to copy but not very successfully.

Like most other countries, the Japanese public has "relaxed" and Japan has been sending a message of downgrading Covid-19 soon. But also like most other countries, Omicron variants are causing much more infections. It's not a surprise to see a higher covid death rate with Omicron and a more "relaxed" public.

I think here is the reality, at least so far with what we know. We are seeing waves of covid-19 infection per year - they are hard to predict in both timing and severity. It might take some time to figure out how to align/adapt to these waves. We might get into a situation, unlike the flu, where there will be a bad wave and a not-so-bad wave. But instead of one flu season per year, we get multiple covid-19 waves per year. In addition, each country has its own unique waves. This makes it much more challenging to deal with.

CDC lag is about 6M. So, hopefully, we get an update soon (if there isn't one already). It's important to see data against the predominant variant(s).

I always said that age is by far the most important risk factor. But obesity is understated as a risk factor there.

Bullshit like "they have a 20x lower death rate (while the transmission rate is almost identical) because they trust the government more"...come on now.

    Mainstream media lies

    remember that they are powerful
Pretty sure only 10% of the D&D knows that Jordan was there in 1995
We saw it but they kept telling that fake narrative

I saw that on my feed but it's a year old and it's likely she did plan to fall as a joke, just not as hard as she intended
