That's the only concern. But that is also the only reason we might (if at all) be able to get him for Gordon.

I'd take the gamble. If he never gets back to healthy form, I'll just consider Gordon as a lost cause anyway.

The bulls don't even need EG. They have way too many guards that need minutes as it is.

Hawks' asking price for John Collins down to a quality player in return, not a first-round pick

    EGO+KJ for Collins

I think this is a good buy low opportunity. Collins is having an awful year, but he will end up getting dealt somewhere and his game will most certainly improve. He just doesn't fit in Atlanta. They signed him and then sabotaged him. Because of the dearth of quality players available in free agency, I think you get ahead of the game and make this move now. Collins for the rest of the year will not miraculously turn the team around, so I don't see him hurting our draft position. Even with his contract, we would still have plenty of room to offer a max contract and add a complimentary piece.

Our draft pick will almost certainly be Wemby or a PG. Then you finally have the makings of a bona fide team.

Sometimes you just have to pounce on value and sort your team out later.

You'd have to play him at SF here or send him to the bench to be a sixth man. I'm all for the idea considering we are going nowhere anyways.

Ive always liked Collins’ game and agree he’s a good buy low candidate. It’s not clear to me that Atlanta would want add an aging shooting guard to their back court, but I’d imagine that KJ is attractive to several nba teams. Obviously there are questions about how that would impact Jabari, as I see Collins as the archetype 4 (like Jabari). But he’s still pretty young, and can definitely help us win. He needs to get better defensively, but he and Jabari may make a good pair.

I wouldn’t give up too much for him, but I’d definitely give up EG and KJ. Great proposal!

I’d try Jabari out at SF, but it probably wouldn’t hurt for him to come off the bench. The ultimate goal would be for him to eventually supplant Collins. Hopefully they are both playing well and you’ve got a deep bench and/or tradeable players.

They get a bit smaller, but I think Gordon and KJ both could help them this year in their playoff push. They get out of Collins’ contract and add a quality young player and a quality expiring contract that could be picked up for an extra year if he plays well enough for hem this year. It gives them quite a bit of flexibility.

    4 team trade
    Gordon to Phoenix
Danny Green, Suns 2023 FRP & Holiday or Culver to Rockets
    Crowder to Atlanta
    Shamet to Memphis

Suns can still use saric to make another trade & we get two expiring and that FRP.

Gordon to NYC for Hartenstein, Cam Reddish, and filler. Hartenstein is a poor man's version of Sengun and would be a great backup. And we can kick the tires on Reddish.

I like the way this R=$ trade bot operates. No bickering or name calling, just proposal after proposal. I don’t know if it gets credit for a successful prediction, but if a trade goes down, odds are good the bot will have gotten it right somewhere in here.

    I doubt it!

Almost every trade it proposes is complete insanity. A few are just fringe insanity. Not sure I've seen a balances one yet
