the pnr opens up the game when the guard goes to the side. KPJ most of the time goes to the foul line following the pick, completely clogging up all lanes and then taking a low percentage mid range shot.
And people on here were throwing his name around to be traded lol. I’ve said it before this dude has star potential all over him…
Time to revisit Alpi's 3pt shooting. After tonight, he is 8 for 28, which is 28.6%. The missed shots include 1 half court shot and 3 shots at the buzzer which he had to shoot. In terms of shots for spacing and keeping the defense honest he is essentially 8 for 24, which is 33.3%. Still the number of shots he take is not much, so this contains little info. But it does say something: He needs to keep shooting the 3s, both to see where he is at and to improve.
Silas rested him last game so that he could play 37 this game. And motivated him by sitting him out on the fourth. Little minds and big minds think differently.
This front office has some serious decision making to do this offseason. If we’re building around Sengun, it dramatically changes FA targets, draft selections, and coaching hires. Have to surround Alpi with 6’8+ lengthy wings that can shoot, defend, and have the IQ to play off his game (like KJ). With a full summer in Houston to work on his body, I think it’s a better bet that Alpi becomes a better defender than Jalen learning how to do literally everything.
He was the MVP in Turkish League at his 18. (Best or second league in Europe, also last 2 years Euroleague champion is from Turkey). Besides he had incridible performances in U18 National Team. I shocked when he was 16 selection in draft. But then remembered. Doncic was drafted 3, and then traded NBA scouts loves NCAA or GLeague players more than Europeans. There are lots of talent in Europe who are never drafted
Amazing game Sengun!!!! This what I was saying, he's on a good streak just needs to keep his chin up and build on each game. At some point, he'll find that he has convinced everyone of his value. Love to see it!
I said this after a few games. High IQ basketball player. What he lacks in his physical ability to defend, he makes up with his high iq moves. Call it flopping. Call it drawing charges. He's in the right place at the right time, most of the time. It's like Wemby, Doncic and so forth... the kid was an MVP at 17 yrs old against grown @$$ men.
You guys (not just Sengun fans) are SO funny by the way. I just took a step back and thought about it and realized the board literally without exaggeration WILDLY swings between different future plans based on single games. Like if Sengun puts up 7 points next game, the same people who today decided to build around Sengun will suddenly wonder if we can package him for John Collins or something. Cracks me up.
