Well, 12 seems to qualify by itself, so I would think yes, they wouldim wondering if the Texans want Payton, if they execute a trade back to, say, number 20 or so, and then send that pick to the saints, while gaining a 3rd or 4th round pick. That's what I'd do, at least if I were in that situation.
The only way I'd consider the #12 pick for a coach is if there is a slew of FA lined up to come with him that makes this an instant turn around.
Payton would bring instant credibility to this joke organization. This is the type of move that Cal is not competent enough to make tho. They will probably find some reason why they can't get him. Like how we could have been in the mix for Payton Manning but we were good with Schaub lol
Nah, this team has too many holes to give up a first round pick for a non-player. I think its between Gannon and DeMeco with Gannon firmly in the lead
Didn’t know Payton is only 59 still got a lot of years coaching left in him… And seems like the time off really helped him
We are not in a position of trading assets just to acquire a coach service. So many holes on defense and offense, there's no guarantee that Payton's ability can turn this franchise around.
If its Sean Payton for #12 or Gannon, Ryans, Kafka, etc.--I would definitely prefer going with a young gun. I love Payton and believe he would bring a lot to the organization, but 2 red flags for me is our draft cost and that he quit on his last team.
