ACA only passed bcz of Pelosi not because Obama. Obama didn't do a damn thing for ACA in the house and refused to get his hands dirty in the senate. After the 2010 midterms Obama AGREED to deficit spending and slashing the budget. He thought Medicare for growing to fast and entitlements needed to be addressed.

It's so amazing how Obama fans can't realize how utterly of a failure Obama was in every way. This is obamas treasury and head of economic council CALLING FOR 10% UNEMPLOYMENT TO TAME INFLATION. He's actively calling for 5 million people to lose their jobs to help inflation.

These were the neoliberal morons that Obama associated himself with. Imagine sitting on a tropical island calling for millions of people to lose their jobs. These neoliberals hate the working class

    • Passed the ACA

Obama didn't "rescue" the economy. He prolonged the pain by his austerity bs. When he came into office democrats were trying to push him for stimulus checks (Bush did this) and structural reform. Obama refused to go big on the stimulus and demanded that a large chunk of the stimulus was done via tax cuts! He told his chief of staff he refused to sign anything above 1t. He then quickly pivoted to balancing the budget and agreeing with the gop about a bloated government after 2010.

Obama had close to 60 seats in senate and didn't accomplish half the things biden has accomplished. Biden got the largest expansion of VA benefits (300 BILLION dollar expansion) done in his sleep while Obama entire stimulus was under 1t.

Biden went big with his stimulus and got rewarded with it with the midterms. People forget but CBO didn't have unemployment at sub 4% till 2024. The reason why jobs market is so good now is because of the huge stimulus. Voters will always choose slightly moderate inflation versus high unemployment and bad jobs market.

I volunteered on the Obama campaign and it was first time I was ever involved in politics. Disappointed at what Obama became in office. An elitist who forgot his roots.

    you're publicizing your willful ignorance.

W's incompetence bankrupted the financial industry'; W's team attempted to bailed up the financial industry. W failed.
Team Obama's team came up w an effective bail out, resuscitating financilal industry.

Why the Hell is the GOP b****ing now? Where were they when Trump was spending like a drunken sailor? He ran up almost as much debt in 4 years as Obama did in 8.

Why not cut spending to a level that doesn't require additional debt?

Sure, go ahead and propose and pass legislation to cut spending to reduce the debt.

But it's immoral and utterly irresponsible to not pay the bill that has already been approved by Congress.

If you reduce spending you can pay the bill without raising the debt

Not how it works. That's saying I won't pay my loan payments until I decided to cut back on my spending.

Simply put, not paying your bill not because you can't but because you won't is immoral and utterly irresponsible.

USA just got Japan to increase its military spending for the first time in over 60 years. Korea is on the verge to do the same thing. We can't ask our allies to increase their military budget only for us to cut ours. China is the single most dangerous enemy we've had to face. This isn't the time to cut our military esp when the chinnese already have a heads up in the navy.

The USA is all in on the indo pacific. We can't allow China to take over taiwan before we build our semiconductor fabs here in America. We'd be left hostage to chinnese for chips.

The PRC has been building up their navy for decades and now by number of ships has the largest navy in the World.
    https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/largest-navies-in-the-world

The quality and firepower of their navy is still lacking behind the US but the gap is closing.

All of this is primarily for taking Taiwan but the PRC has interests in much of the seas bordering it and has territorial disputes with it's neighbors in the South China Sea, the Yellow Sea, and Sea of Japan.

You have a point. Obama as he even admitted one time was governing as a moderate Republican. His policies were not really supported by the "left" unless you think all Democrats are leftists.
