Romeo could, and I'm just spitballing here, come out and say something really nice about the Texans org, and it would shut a lot of people up.

Yes. Again, there are reasons for very qualified candidates to *not* want this job.

And it's all because of how the Texans have run their business and opened themselves up for criticism.

Hiring Culley was their big mistake. They should have just hired Lovie year 1 like Cal wanted. Scratch that itch for him.

 

He got serious about his diet (he hire a full time nutritionist.) and working out after he was traded. Why he couldn't do this with the Texans is anybody's guess. The guy has always been talented, some guys just need a wakeup call.

 

Cal didn't want to hire Lovie when Culley was hired.

 

He was fine-to-good with the Texans for a 3rd year 5th rounder (at a position of need), and has played ~50% of defensive snaps with both the Texans and now the Niners.

Don't excuse the FO's bullsh!t. We'll see how the 6th round pick we got for him will pan out this draft.

 

Sure he did. Lovie was hired as the DC before Culley was the HC. Cal wanted Lovie involved. Just make him the HC.

For the record it wasn't "official" but it was reported well beforehand. Lovie had flown in to HOU before Culley was hired. I think Lance Z had reported, but could be wrong. If you go back through the threads here at the time, it was known on this board before Culley was known that Lovie was going to be the DC.

O for sure. I’m not saying anyone should accept the interview, we definitely have reasons for not accepting it. But that’s not what was suggested.
