Thanks for that. I don't have a Playstation, which explains a lot. Looks like a very well done Zombie 3rd person "action adventure" shooter with a good plot. Something like that. Guess I'll have to see what HBO does with it. I like Zombie movies.
I didn't have a Playstation when the game came out and I ended up watching the cutscenes on YouTube (I think it was 2013?) and I was incredibly impressed at how compelling the story was. It wasn't necessarily a unique plot, but the voice acting, pacing, cinematography, etc. had me hooked. Only thing I'm worried about (I have faith in Pedro Pascal in portraying Joel) is that they make Ellie too cringe and too Gen-Z appealing lol. Also cool thing, the game starts in Austin so I imagine the show should as well.
I did not know this had Resident Evil type monsters and not your normal zombies, I am getting excited about this.

I'm very excited about this series. I finally played part 2 (I didn't for years because I saw all of the pre-release spoilers and decided to not spend $60 on a known storyline) and enjoyed it a lot. It'll be interesting to see how far the series goes into that game. By the way, for anyone who did not play the games, do not look up anything about the series online. Don't search for this on show on YouTube. Spoilers from Part 2 abound and might ruin some key moments for you.
Played the game, love me some survival mode type strategy game. The story is very engrossing. I’m not sure if I want to see a series. I’ll just play the game. Too many shows already.

Ok I think this is better than walking dead just based on the budget. I mean my God this first episode looks like an A24 movie. Walking Dead looked like house on the Prarie shot on vhs. Video games > comic book
First impressions: makes the walking dead look like sesame street. Also best end credits for a pilot of all time? That's my favorite band ever.
Good first episode. Pretty faithful to the game, but there are a few differences: what happened in the hallway with the Fireflies? Also interesting to see the first infected via the environment.
