I am confused. Does this say Richardson is 33rd and Young is 96st ranked in the draft? If so, whomever put this list together is on crack.

I honestly think the crimes of Stroud's father would shy the Texans away from him anyways.

    Even if that's unfair.

Richardson is typically about 33 in this game and the Young in question is the DI and not the QB.

Great. Help the Texans out by not tempting them to draft Stroud at #2.

No need to worry. Stroud would be the 4th choice at QB behind wait till next year.

I don't disagree. I also think Stroud will be, at best, the third best QB from this class, so I'm fine either way.

As @Marshall Bryant pointed out, going back to school would actually cost Stroud money. He'd likely be the 4th best QB next year. Say he's drafted as the 4th QB off the board at around number 20.

The difference in the rookie contract between 2 or 3 and 20 was around 21 million dollars this year. I saw somewhere he could get an NIL deal worth ~$15 million. Still doesn't make up for what he could potentially lose.

Either he has very strong convictions, is being led astray by his camp, or he's all about the money. Either way, he may turn some people off in the process.

    Just explaining, not fussing.

It's really unrealistic because of a flaw I found which makes Chicago very vulnerable to moving up to the first pick for next to nothing..

Mostly drugs. He's in prison for a long time under a third strike law. Had turned his life around and was a good role model, but the drug addiction resurfaced and he went on a bender and ran from the cops, I believe. Was arrested for sexual battery, as well as many other things after the police chase.

I don't agree with holding that against his son at all. But I also wouldn't fault an organization, coming off of what happened with Deshaun Watson, for staying away if put in that situation.

A small excerpt from an SI article:

C.J.’s father, Coleridge Bernard Stroud III, is serving a 38-year prison sentence in upstate California. He pleaded guilty in 2015 to charges of carjacking, kidnapping, robbery and misdemeanor sexual battery stemming from a drug-related incident that ended with his evading police by jumping into the San Diego Bay.

Once a minister and the breadwinner of a family of six, Coleridge’s incarceration (the second of his life) sent the Strouds into financial ruin and destroyed his relationship with his then 13-year-old quarterback of a son. C.J.’s life was rocked by the development. The youngest of four children, his high school years were spent living in a small apartment above a storage facility. At one point, the Strouds nearly went homeless.

Exactly. And he has turned out alright.

As I said, I don't believe in holding one's family's actions against them.

I'm just not sure how the Texans feel about it.

FWIW, that's a great article. I wanted to root for Stroud even more after I read it.

I don't hold it against him. He's just down my list of QBs I prefer and two of them will be in next years class. There's work to do before any QB can be successful here.

His agent probably takes him off of the Texans board.

Rightfully so, Dont want to have to go through another Watson thing in three years and that's if Stroud is any good, which is debatable for me.

Caserio needs to add 2 RB's this offseason. I'm good with one being drafted and another in FA.

Dont want to be like last seasons RB room after Pierce went down.
