Of course, Silas will play Bruno a lot of minutes, Alpi only 25 minutes, Gordon 40+ minutes...it's all so predictable.

 

NBA has chosen the letter of the law rather than the intent of the rule. The intent is to keep fans and players safe. And we understand, Malice at the Palace is not what anybody wants (and if they do, feel free to relive it on Youtube or start watching hockey). The letter of the law says anyone who crosses a boundary gets suspended, so I ask, who from the Kings roster are suspended? Are we supposed to believe NO Kings player crossed the boundary line? Just because a squab happened 2 feet in front of the Rockets bench and the cameras were trained on them they are to be punished, even while what they did was pull Mathews back and form a wall to stop the Kings from further escalating the issue??? 100% kept fans and players safe from an absolutely ridiculous overreaction by a veteran team that should've been the more mature group. Monk just caused an injury and was out there trying to start a fight but aside from Mathews (the guy who Fox clotheslined last year with no fine or suspensions) the young Rockets actually showed some class and maturity.

While all active Kings players ran down the court and started a shoving match, Metu was also ejected with Eason, was he suspended a game as well? Fox bodied up a ref or two to insert himself in the pushing, is he suspended? Lyles ran over and started the shoving, is he suspended? Monk's actions in the previous game caused an injury, is he suspended?

Even the referee's assessment in game was surprisingly accurate and fair. What is wrong with the NBA? They've had days to review it and STILL come up with this bozo ****? They actually called Mathews the instigator. Not Monk, the guy causing injury, flopping about and punching the ball into the stands.

Garrison has to keep a cool head as guys will provoke you, but didn't understand Tari getting hit with a fine at first. It looked like he and Sengun were separating people, but perhaps the NBA wanted a stricter outcome to prevent any possible future issues.

It seems the lesson based on the NBA's decision is just to stay completely out of the way, don't leave the bench, and let the refs/security handle it.

I agree the punishment should be even for both teams though.
