I thought the goal was to win a chip not a 2nd round exit....

Silas knows he’s in hot water. He just has no backbone to run what HE thinks we should be running. Which is beyond me because if he’s going to get fired after this season anyway, what does he have to lose? He needs to stick up for himself.

We’ve seen a similar situation last season with the Lakers. Eventually, Frank Vogel had enough and moved Westbrook to the bench.

From day 1 that running this 'offense' without a Harden was going to be painful to watch. That was last year. Nothing has changed. But now there is this notion that the Thunder are better set than us? Oh really ? Their star is entering his 5th season, Dort also a huge part of that team is in his 4th. It would be a totally different scenario if we had an already established player or two, not Gordon, that these 20 year olds could mesh their games with.

Trying to win with your main guys all under 21 and making them fit with a talented 22yrs old SF masquerading as a PG is going to be very difficult.

Changes have to be made at the top for sure.

You don’t think we would win a championship at some point with a core of Jalen Green, Jabari Smith and Wembanyama? And plenty of cap space in the early years?

That’s a opinion / assumption … Silas isn’t getting canned at end of season unless Tilman says so.

He’s doing exactly what they wanted - unless you in the front office and know details of what boxes he isn’t checking off … folks can’t speak on his status.

    Hornets 11 wins
    Pistons 12 wins
Spurs 13 wins (2 over Rockets)

We are right on pace of where Tilman/Stone wants us to be

We won’t….only 14 % chance. People on this site act like it’s an 86% chance. Morons.

    Couple things we could do.

fire Silas, give another on the coaching staff a chance to get more out of our plays the 2nd half of the season.

take a risk and make a big trade for someone like Tyus Jones. Give Memphis what they need to get that done short of giving up Jabari, Green or Sengun.

    or

commit to playing TyTy at the point 30 min a game for the rest of the season and live with the results.

we could also make some trades to consolidate, free up more development minutes, and recoup some asset value. This would all help us for next year and beyond.

Having the worst record is not the only priority during a rebuild. Player development, growth, culture, etc. are the most important, and we have regressed in that area.

Again, look at where the other rebuilding teams are in efficiency. You can tank without being a complete embarrassment and clown show.

You’re literally that dog meme, thinking all of this is normal and fine. Our own players, their parents, opposing broadcasts, agents, and national media, who are all plugged in more than you, all criticize what’s going on in this organization. You need to wake up.

A lot of dumb people on this site and apparently in Houston who think Silas is a very good coach. Wait until they eventually win a game and they all come out of the woodwork.

I started a thread addressing how we don’t have a corner. If you’re traveling around a giant Stone, a Stone is round, so there are no corners. At least with Morey we had “MORE - E” as in More Emprovement.

Also Silas is Greek/Latin for forest. Forests have no corners. They just go and go and go and go. We are lost in a forest.

yet some people argued with me and said they rather keep losing instead of being competitive like orlando. "lose at all costs" is not even tanking. tanking has always been play your young players, watch them develop and hope they win but ultimately know they're going to lose more likely than not but at least they're developing. the rockets are not competitive, the young players are regressing and the off chance they are competitive, it's because of Eric Gordon turning back the clock and KPJ going crazy(See Bulls game), players that won't be part of the future in the long term.

Going for the worst record and the bolded are pretty tough to do simultaneously....

I think the bolded is very important, but not the most important during the 2 & 1/2 seasons of a rebuild from the ground up. We definitely haven't been doing a decent job of tangible player development and creating culture.

And yet the bottom 4 teams are separated by only half a game despite the glaring efficiency differences..... and none of those 4 bottom teams had gone from perennial playoffs to an entire rebuild during that time.

And y'all need to realize the Rockets opted for Hinkie-esque Sixers rebuild that was going to be centered around the OKC trade.... which turned out to be 2 & 1/2 seasons of abysmal basketball..... Don't believe me? Instead of adding washed up vets over the offseason we added 3 rookies to 4 rookies. However, we will no longer be incentivized to tank after this season, but to use our cap space and start making moves with our war chest of high draft picks

Do I think we could have done better on the margins with rosters and trades? Sure.

Am I happy how embarrassing the Rockets look? No, but hopefully it's just temporary.

But the overall plan is the correct one IMO.
