Finally feel like the Rockets shitty play these past few years broke my spirit. I haven't watched much Rockets basketball this last few weeks. I'll sit snd pay attention to the box score but other than that, the product really does suck. I'm impressed these game threads are still passing 50 pages, kudos to you guys. I'm sure I'll start watching again before the month is over, but yeah, sucks to see the team just be terrible.
To be fair, OKC was misusing Sabonis much worse. He was playing strictly as a stretch four. So not only was he playing out of his natural position, he was also playing in a completely different style than his strengths are. Basically just a 3 point shooter to stretch the floor for Westbrook and help him stat pad for his triple double season. It seems they were completely oblivious to the player Sabonis was in his Gonzaga days.
The high five “KPJ Sucks” party in the early pages was entertaining. Thank goodness the games he misses are closer and better for development. Lol.
Why didn’t we baby hook the Kings to a win? I thought all the teams problems were laid neatly at KPJs feet?
Ooooooooh!! I see the strategy now!!! The Rockets are forcibly losing ugly now and often to dig the type of hole they need to be in so they can start winning at the end of the season and make it look like their young players are improving while still getting a lock on a Top 3 pick. These manipulators!
I still enjoyed watching the game much more without KPJ running the floor. I think most of us just want to see him off ball more. He certainly doesn’t “suck” as a player. But yes, as a point guard. Obviously it’s fair to point out that we don’t have much of an alternative.
If those guys were gonna be special - like all NBA special - it really shouldn't matter who the coach is. They just don't execute enough with the opportunities they're given for me to think this is a likely possibility. I actually find not having to watch him better even if they lose by more. They lose anyway, watching KPJ decision tree unfold on possession after possessionbi in slow motion is so boring and annoying.
Again, watch the second period. Green was taking low probability, high degree of difficulty shots and making them at the end It wasn't sustainable. Then he started missing and he's awful at handling any focused defensive pressure so he starts coughing up the ball. Standard stuff.
