The Grizzlies would sue Parsons because the Grizzlies were stupid and didn't do due diligence before handing over a ton of money?
Yeah you’re right. I was thinking maybe Parsons lied to them about his injury. But come to think of it, he didn’t have to say anything. It’s on Grizzlies to do the medicals.
Right. But I think Parsons laughing at it publicly is crossing the line. It shouldn't be something he's so proud of that he would brag about it. It seems to be in character of the dude. Remember the picture of him and Cuban laughing when he signed with the Mavs?
I think the whole thing, “…you may not pass”, means that there was doubt, but nothing illegal. But it was pretty base that he is mocking the Grizzlies for signing his broken down self.
If you watch the whole segment about him signing with Grizzlies, he admitted that he was chasing money and that one team wanted to do a physical while the other one didn't, so he went with the latter team to play it safe in case Blazer's medical team potentially "red flags him". He stated that both teams knew of his third knee surgery by that time and that he intended to get healthy. What's so shocking/shameful in saying that? Now if he said "after 3rd surgery I knew I was done playing competitive Bball", then THAT would be shocking. EDIT: it's not shocking to any Rockets fan to find out that Chandler was after money and had little to no team loyalty.
Chandler’s a tool, but if it’s between $95 million and a minimum deal, I’d do/say whatever I needed to to sign that contract, short of outright fraud.
