You simply let the market decide what he’s worth and then match the contract if you want to keep him. It’s not rocket science. And there’s still a few more years to go so let’s see how he develops first before jumping to conclusions about his future contracts.

He also shoots better in movement, but Silas has none of that in his offense. Jalen and Bari both like to shoot in movement and they rarely get any of that. It's one of the reason They look so awful. Once again it's children who have to play above their coaching.

In 231 pages has anyone compared Jabari's offensive and Defensive efficiency to other Top 3 picks of the past 1st season? I'm curious where he ranks over the past 20 - 30 years.

Why does the scoreboard matter when enjoying a nice dunk highlight? You indicate that you’re not a hater and just sticking to facts. But the fact is 99% of folks would either like a dunk highlight, say something positive about it, or just ignore it.

I don’t remember anyone ever asking “scoreboard?” as a response to a dunk highlight. That’s a weird response and basically just going out of your way to hate on a 19 year old rookie.

He averaged 2 shots at the rim and makes 1.6 of them per game. The sample size is incredibly small to draw any kind of conclusion.

Calvin with a great take on what he been saying all year…. Jabari has to be more aggressive and get more touches

We need to trade Gordon for a real PG or 3 and D SF …

Another Career achievement for a rocket player with kpj out? Not a coincidence

It's one game, and he has been struggling prior to today, BUT...

I think there are some small signs of improvement in terms of being aggressive in terms of heading towards the hoop.
He can definitely get to his spots and get the shot he wants, it is just that some of the shots he gets to are ones he probably shouldn't ever get to...

He needs to learn to turn back underneath once his drive is cut off. Once he gets that down, it opens up another scoring option for him.

His 3 ball is still missing. Funnily that is one of the least concerning things - perhaps with a genuine playmaker that becomes easier??

Ah yes, and another 25 point loss to a mediocre team.

But I'm sure we should celebrate awful players padding their stats to the detriment of the team.

Jabari is built like TMac and with coaching probably has the potential.

Smith is able to develope his game. He never had the chance with kpj ball hogging ways just to lose with similar results. At least without kpj, man could actually play ball and not get freeze out.

So, in your mind, the goal of basketball is to pat the stats of a couple individual players while the team gets blown out by mediocre teams?

I mean, I guess if you're a fan of the players and not the team that might work

Jabari may not end up being the best player on the Rockets, but I can 100% see him becoming the emotional leader and tone-setter of these very young, very undisciplined Rockets.

His frustration is tangible at times, as is ours.

Looking forward to his continued development

The clear goal for this team is for our young players to get better.

Well it's not really a sign of them getting better when they score more to the detriment of the team.

Them being better would manifest in the team being better.

Not necessarily. You want to see them developing their skills and improving in areas, and tonight Smith showed some of that.

Seems like you expect kids (literally) to take huge leaps overnight. With bad coaching/system in place at that.

He's taken 32 shots and hit over 60% of them. It's certainly a positive development and a good starting sample.
