Why you would label a vast country of over a billion people "a sh**hole country' because it doesn't meet your upper middle class expectations is a mystery to me. I'm very aware of the remaining difficulties of the caste system. The mixture of large areas of the poor with areas of those better off. The very real problem of an ultra-nationalist "Hindu first" government with a huge bureaucracy that can make getting things done very difficult. Yet parts of India are stunningly beautiful and the people can be incredibly friendly and welcoming. Your description of India doesn't match that of my own experience there decades ago, when the country was far more poor, much more riddled with the caste system, and struggling to develop. Surely, since you seem determined to describe India as a "sh**hole country," you can find an even broader brush in your toolkit.
Yes Ukraine has done amazingly well and Russia continues to blunder but in no way should they be underestimated. Russia is still a huge military willing to be very brutal. This war could still turn in their favor.
Most countries have problems but also something’s going well for them. I’ve never been to India but understand they have some huge problems with wealth inequality, poor infrastructure, caste divisions, and of course religious divisions. For what I’ve seen there are some amazing parts of India with incredible scenery and a deep and ancient culture. Generalizing a whole country as. “Sh^thole” is exactly the type of thinking that keeps us our worldview narrow and divided.
Using emoticons like a smiley face or whatever is alright, but good god I wish twitter influencers would stop littering their tweets with iconography in place of words, especially the national flags. Unreadable. My 7th grader knows what the Belarus flag looks like, but she's probably the only person. War crime, sure, but you gotta admit that's pretty clever.
Ukrainian drone delivering a jar of sugar to Ukrainians instead of the usual delivery for grenades to Russians. Amazon faints.
You are right, it is a ****ing **** hole crappy country. The people are nice though, but the garbage everywhere and crushing amount of people make it so..... Nice people - SHITHOLE country....kinda like Russia these days. DD
Really insightful video that towards the end sheds some pretty terrible news for Russia. I also think the German influence here with Namibia will be interesting to watch. Of course there is the matter of time to pull the oil out of the ground, transport it, and partner with a country with the refinery infrastructure.
India is completely apesh**t but also one of the most amazing places I have ever been. I went in expecting the absolute worst ( there is some of that to be sure) but I came out of the experience completely changed and I am in absolute awe. The bad parts aren't any worse or better than brasil, mexico etc.

What's the long term benefit of the EU relying on our LNG for decades to come? Folks look at it at a zero sum movement. When you invest in a business you don't expect profits right away. EU imported close to 60b of LNG just this past year alone. Think about the long term boost to Houston market due to European dependence. Its funny how when right wingers pitch their tax cuts they always use dynamic scoring and talk about the "trickle down" effect of investment. Somehow when it comes to investing in the ukraine war while helping our energy markets they talk about fiscal responsibility. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/energy/article/lng-sempra-engie-texas-17634730.php The LNG market is making everyone in Texas filthy rich. They're building a brand new terminal in Port Arthur to ship to France.
