I believe the quote was by the time the draft rolls around Bryce would be 5’7 when I said he was under 5’10. He will be among the shortest to ever play, along with the lightest and slightest
I still think he should sit for a year and have leg lengthening surgery to add like 5 inches in height.
Lol. I’m ok with everything about the kid and actually prefer him over majority of other picks. But man, 5’9 and 180-185 is pretty damn small
Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow all had more rush attempts and rush attempts per game than Bryce Young coming out of college. But of course there is additional concern for Bryce because he is a running QB. Gotta love it.
Yah let's ignore his frame as the main reason for extra concern when he does need to run. So what's your point? He'll be a pure pocket passer and not use his legs?
I completely understand the concern about his size. But to say he is a running QB is just false. Will he be a pure pocket passer? I don’t see why not based on his style of play. Sure he’ll use his legs when he has to just like most QBs but the kid is not running around like Lamar Jackson or Kyler Murray out there.
Agreed Payne probably wont be coming to Kirby. But Dalvin Tomlinson could be available. Gonna have to overpay though. Hyatt is my guy at 12. If they have to go QB then Young would be my pick. (Hope they pass on QB) There will be some good edge players at 2-33. Ojulari/Sanders/Carter/Foskey etc... could all be there at 2-33. Gotta find a Center to start and draft an OG somewhere along the way for depth purposes so we dont have to watch guys like McCray anymore. There are going to be starter level TE's in this draft. I wouldn't be against this. 1-2. Young 1-12. Hyatt 2-33 Washington Trade up using 3-75 and 4-103 2. Best edge available 3. Best Center available.
You still on board with drafting a 5'9-5'10 Flutie style QB? You will win more games if that's your goal. But no championships. I seeYoung having a good (Flutie) type career, not a great career. I hope they pass on Young at 1-2.
Well nothing has changed other than him finishing the season with an absolute ridiculous game. So ya I’m still on board of that’s the pick. I still like Anderson but not sure how much of an option he is, even if we had the #1 pick.
Hyatt has world class speed and wiggle. He reminds me of Waddle. He's also got the frame to get stronger if needed. I hope other GM's see things the way you do, trade down.
If he's what you want him to be, he would be the 1st QB that size to be successful since Tarkenton. I'm not betting 1-2 on that.
You still have those other 3 guys rated as 1st rd picks but not Hyatt? What do you not like about Hyatt? Or better yet what do you like more about the other three guys more?
No, I love Hyatt. Go back to earlier in this thread. Just watching/listening to draft analyst and they’re saying he’s a second rounder. Edit: Basically, if we can get him in the second round then why not use 1.12 on a different position like DE or OT
