my neighbor went and got 3 ORBIs and has them setup all wrong. how do I know? i was scanning the 2.4 and 5ghz waves to put my stuff on the right channel and he has them all on the wrong channels. please, for the love of goodness, put your 2.4ghz channels to either 1, 6 or 11. not anything else!!! channel width = 20mhz for 2.4 and 40mhz for 5ghz in crowded areas. if you are out in the middle of nowhere put it to 80mhz for 5ghz. co-channel interference (like putting your 2.4ghz on anything other than 1,6,11) is worse than having multiple folks using 1,6,11 together. if you have multiple access points, remember to use the all 1s or 6s or 11s. he can also do everyone a favor by making his 5ghz channels 40mhz instead of 80!
it's made worse by freaking ATT access points that just auto select any channel and it's set at max width. Why not ship these to only select 1, 6 or 11?? Ugh.
2.4 signals can travel 150-300ft.... that's like 50 covid distance brah. but you been up Elons butt for so long you forgot what distance is...go outside. take a few steps!. look at these poor people with wifi issues:
