This is a fun thread to look back on. I think I had them finishing in the mid-lotto.

Lol what is 'probably' going to accomplish.

It is a rigid Yes or No.

man crazy to think at one point in time after 1 in every 5 games when we would actually lose a game or so during the harden era, trolls would actively bump the "i have grown to hate james frauden thread" or "trade james harden" thread. Looking back at that era and where we are now as an organization is striking. This is probably what the knicks fans felt like all those years

From the reactions about our current team and the state of our franchise now I have come to conclusion that this franchise NEVER deserved james harden in the first place. By the time he left us in 2020 injuries started to derail his career and the miles that had been put on his body from carrying subpar rosters every night to the playoffs here had taken its toll on his new teams. What people dont realize is its hard to win a championship in this league because there are so many teams that want the same thing you have. The only year we had a really competitive team was when we were 1 game away from going to the finals and an injury to cp3 stopped us. Whats crazy is even that 2018 team around harden was still probably not even as good talent wise vs the team we were playing in the warriors smh. Abd harden still got ciritisized for failing to bat durant, curry, draymond and klay by himself. The same team that swept prime 2018 lebron the very next round smh

Winning a ring is not everything, but for some reason that pressure got to james and he wanted out. Because espn and the media would always trash him after harden lost in the playoffs. We as a fanbase should have had his back like the blazers fans do and did for damian lillard. Whats even worse i would argue is that posters on this very board contributed to hardens negative rep on defense by posting clips to youtube and having them become viral and that by the time harden had improved his defense leading the league in deflections and second in steals twice. He never recieved credit for it

oh the rockets definitely deserved harden. It's the ungrateful unappreciated fans that didn't.

the championship or bust mentality by the media forced harden out. But prior to that he was getting killed on this website for bad playoff games and not winning. What has Damian lillard ever won and the blazer fans are still loyal to him and the front office even gave him a supermax. The point is we as a fanbase should have had his back when first take and fs1 would go in on him. Instead I would argue we added to the problem with viral material to give them. We deserve our place in the nba right now because posters on this very board wanted this for so long. You are seeing the effect the loss of an all time great can have on a franchise. Hopefully the next all time great player we get whether it’s scoot Henderson or wemby we can treat much better than we treated harden

A fanbase can't do anything, you see that every day with Silas.

Harden lost me a few times and deserved a certain amount of criticism. I keep seeing posts like yours; lets just remember that he wasnt an infallible deity. But obviously my top preference wasn't to trade him away until the Westbrook doomsday decision arrived. Even the Harden-Howard years were fun. He was a superstar. They don't come along often.

they don’t remember smh. I was only a lurker back then but I remember after every loss how hard harden was bashed on this site about his defense and there were multiple threads created that were never locked titled “harden vs klay” or “harden vs kawhi” or “harden vs Paul George” smh. We really never deserved harden

Harden was great, and it was also classless the way he handled himself to force the trade. We should also welcome him back in free agency for the right deal. These situations are more complex than can be typically debated on message boards.

But how about the fact 39 people actually thought this team would make the play in

People preferred to hire Atkinson and JVG but yeah Silas was the cheap guy.

Love is too strong a word. Especially for a job that is highly unstable.

He was respected when he was hired not loved or worshipped.

The thread disagrees. only a small amount of folks preferred JVG. even smaller for Atkinson

Dame also is nowhere near the level that harden was, he’s below the threshold where titles are expected. Harden took **** for losing to the full strength kd warriors without cp3 in 2018. Nobody would anything when dame would get swept even without steph
