I agree, I like Roosh but when you say we had 30 assists last night and lost by
20 points.....the response is, but it's not a finished product. We need to add more (to Sengun).

And wtf have all of us been saying about adding more talent to KPj/Green?

    Same crap, different cows!!

Definitely need a bigger sample size, but I still want KPJ to come off the bench.

Yes. Or more realistically trading KPJ for Kuzma so we have more roster balance and a player at a premium position.

I've even heard some guys say that HOW the pass is made is tied into the overall effectiveness of the open shot created! I mean I guess - getting it at the chest and ready for the motion vs having to readjust? Im just numb to how many open/wide open shots this team misses. If they would convert those at an average rate EVERYONE would be enjoying a sexier statistical season.

Rockets are 9th in 3PA's while ranking 28th in 3P%. Biggest problem with Rockets, imo.

Rockets (on Nov 7th vs Magic) had 31 assists and won by 7. Both KPj and Green played.
    KPj had 11 assists.

KPj averages about 35 minutes per game....last night had 3 assists in 10 minutes.
Pace for 9 assists or more if he had played the entire game.

    @Verbal Christ

CP3 supposedly would put the seams of the ball perfectly in the hands
    of the shooter.....ready made shots.

    Has never won a championship

KPJ needs to embrace more of a Jamal Murray type role with Sengun.

Ryno shot significantly better off passes from CP3 vs Harden. Both resulted in wide open shots, but CP3 hits shooters with passes they can quickly set and shoot after catching.

I think it’s clear this roster needs a lot of work. At this point we are trying to determine/acquire the foundation for the next iteration of the Rockets.

Are you saying that hitting players in their "shooting pocket" is no longer important? I thought that having to reach for passes allowed the defense to close out more effectively and altar the shot. Plus it used to throw shooters out of rhythm. Has this changed? No sarcasm here. Maybe the new data supports this. I just didn't know..

This…. Quantitatively the Rockets have been offensively abysmal with two ball dominant guards in the starting lineup.

Move KPJ to the bench where he can do what he does best.

Not much of a problem this season when we are trying to be booboo.

Kanter was never a play maker so Sengun’s scoring and playmaking might end up making him a net positive.

The entire point is try something different then what we are doing now.

That begs the question if the passes are really that bad though? If you are wide open (6+ feet from nearest defender) is it too much to ask that the outcome of that shot resemble more of a league average? Its mind boggling just how bad most of this team is at shooting the ball.

It seems almost everyone realizes how bad a pg KPJ is.

I think this is undoubtedly true...but I think anyone who tries to claim one guy is better than another is almost certainly going to be heavily influenced by their own bias. They'll always notice the good ones from their guy, always notice the bad ones from the guy they don't like, etc. So I don't know if it's very useful to take someone's word for it when they say one player is better than another at this unless they are able to provide some unbiased data.

But it definitely is a real thing. You can see it every night, a guy will make a pass to an open shooter with a defender closing out, and if it hit him perfect it would be an open shot. But instead it's at his feet or over his head and he has to jump to get it, and by the time his feet are set and he's in his shooting motion the defender is there and he has to pass it away or take a tightly contested shot. I haven't noticed any of our passers being noticeably better or worse than any others in this regard.
