Lol you kidding, no player cos of an agent. Micah, Pitts, Higgins, Derwin? I wouldn’t spend a first on Fields but rose coloured glasses much? 100% take a few of his players and him being DM won’t stop me.
Not sure how the rooney rule works but let's say hypothetically the Texans are blown away by Ben Johnson today to the point where they hire him today on the spot is that a violation or would they have to wait until they conduct all their interviews and wait to hire him?
They could trade a 3rd or 4th for him and take levis or Richardson to groom instead of trading their entire draft for the no. 1 pick which I think would be smart
Also saw a trade proposal on Twitter where the colts trade their 1st and 2nd year and a first next year for Lamar Jackson to me I lol at that but not sure
I just want our guy their at 2 regardless of who it is and don't want the colts to leap frog us and possibly take who we're targeting all bc we got the w on Sunday
This what I would do if I were Ballard. They have alot of top end talent to win now. Taylor, Buckner, Nelson, Leonard, Pittman...add Harbaugh, Carr plus the #4 pick to the mix and they are back to competing for the division.
That's what I'm saying they can compete they have a win now roster and with the correct picks and player moves they could keep a win now roster until levis or Richardson are ready to go
Yes, that’s the definition of a violation of the Rooney rule because the haven’t interviewed a minority candidate. Another reason why the Rooney rule should be thrown out. As a black man, yes, I want to see other black men as HCs and GMs but it’s the Rooney rule is embarrassing. Teams are just interviewing black coaches just because now.
The Rooney rule is about breaking barriers. As has been discussed a lot here, the NFL is a good ol' boys club, and hiring is often done because of people you know or are connected with. The point of the Rooney rule is to get black people in front of these owners and break down those barriers. Even if that coach doesn't get that job, it gets them in front of owners and GMs and potentially opens the door for future opportunities that wouldn't have existed otherwise.
