This where GM/ HC alignment is important. If you draft a CB at #3 your style of defense needs to fit with player's strengths.

Seems like something Caserio and Smith should have figured out before the draft.

Are we ready to have the conversation that the pick should have been Sauce or not yet?

Does SG make the pro bowl if he’s on the Texans? How many pro bowlers do one win teams typically have? What if DS were on the Jets? Is he a pro bowler instead? I’m assuming the Jets have a better pass rush than the Texans? I’ll hang up and listen.

In this scenario are the injury concerns that were mentioned pre draft with Stinger a reality in NY the way they are here or is this a perfect world scenario?

He has a pulled hamstring right? I thought they may just be being overly cautious with him, since it’s a lost season. Anyway, good point if this is a durability concern going forward. Was mainly just referring to on field performance and the relative situations each player was in.

This has been obvious to me for such a long time.
Doesn't everyone remember the interview where Lovie talked about DS?
Here's one version of it but there's one even more explicit version of the same facts Lovie states on this video, although this one's pretty darn explicit as well.
Lovie stated that when he met and talked to Derek afterwards he "knew" Derek would be the corner for us!
    Not "I'll talk to Nick".
    I "knew"!
    He WOULD"!
That means he got his way.

I actually think that Lovie got his way on "at least" every defensive draft pick we made if not every pick period!

So Nick bungled two head coaching hires, picked the wrong CB, and wasted a pick on David Mills.

What a great resume. Yet he has the most job security.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Tampa 2 doesn’t really fit Stingley’s strengths does it? Ideally with a new defensive scheme next year Stingley will get to play more man coverage which he excelled in at LSU. Year 2 will be big for him.

Yeah, it seems like the guys that are deemed the best rookies, Gardner and Woolen, are playing tons of press and are excelling. Stingley is playing none.

There’s also a very good chance Kenyon Green will be nowhere near as good as a lot of players selected after him.

Kenyon green was frequently mocked to the cowboys last year but they were picking in the 20’s

His talent like Stingley would be wasted in the Tampa 2. new DC will elevate Stingley's footprint on this team.
