Cedric Lath officially arrived over the weekend and started some light work with the program. Welcome Cedric. He's about to enjoy front row, some exciting UH hoops and perhaps history in the next 3 months
In case you don't zoom in on the tiny text on that bottom pic, it says "HAKEEM OLAJUWON 7'2"." Anybody know if that's actually on the mat or if that's superimposed/photoshopped on? I'm asking because I've heard everything from 7'2" to 7'6" for Olajuwon's wingspan over the years. This dude is built like a 2-legged ox.
Damn Yolo! Why you just now telling us about him? I just read he signed back in Nov. If we can get Walker to stay one more yr, this team is going to be AWESOME
Hell if I know. He isn't ranked too highly as a recruit (with his experience, that's probably meaningless), but he's going Shaq on backboards (see first highlight on first video below). It seems like his body is getting ripped from earlier highlights I saw of him. He apparently has only been playing basketball for about 3 years (which is really interesting - could improve a lot) :
He did tell you about him! https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/cougar-basketball.251925/page-272#post-14361223
And to address the other part of the post, walker is 1 and done. Like I alluded to previously folks should enjoy and appreciate this rare team while you can. There’s only 3 months left of it
With Walker missing; that appears to be a real problem. But, UH has enough talent to put this team away. Focus.
A little too close for comfort; Sasser to the rescue. I was expecting a blow out, but as they say, "on any given night."
Nice game from our backcourt duo. Wishing Arceneaux had a few more minutes tonight. Jarace Walker, get well soon!
Our big guys did not match up well against USF tonight. Overmatched or maybe the fact that Walker was sick and could not play and everyone else inside was in foul trouble all night. Great night for Sasser and Shead. I think we missed 10 free throws and got outrebounded but it was not the easy boring win that a 23 point spread would lead one to believe. Feel like we almost got ambushed in this one.
It was good to see Sasser and Shead step up to the plate without the lottery pick on display. So that was something to hang a hat on tonight. And that was enough.
