Congrats to the Houston Rockets for finally making it to the top of any kind of NBA Player/Team Rankings by a national media outlet - first time in 3 years.
And hopefully it pays off! Most of those teams are within 1-3 games of us, so we may be gods of trash basketball, but they're also deities within the pantheon and have been for a few years. lol.
Really, What's the alternative? There's a handful of teams in destination cities who can attract players and then there's the rest of the league. The last time the Magic were relevant Dwight Howard was their lead dog. Charlotte & Sacramento have been bad for more than a decade. OKC was a crappy team in a crappy market before they moved to OKC where they ended up with 3 top picks- they were good for a couple seasons and couldn't keep them and have been back to piss poor since. Unless you are LA, Boston or Miami, you have to draft well and win before team control runs out. What's the optimal way to do that? .... tank.
Kings are pretty good now. Magic look to have a franchise foundation in Banchero and have finally drafted well this rebuild. Pistons suck. It sucks but there’s is no sure path way back to contention. Remind me of your alternatives to rebuilding?
I think I am about to see myself out of this message board for a while (it's not you mr dd) The number of comments I have read about who is better than who and player comparisons that when made; as if they are written in stone only to often contradict what was said months to a year ago is just blah. The sheer negativity regarding something I have been a fan of 30 years now is not good. I think I am going to save my next posts for the preseason next sept/oct. I am not naive to understand people being frustrated after 2 years with the worst record (it won't happen 3 years in a row) and a bottom 5 record this season.

Talent acquisition should not just be for players, but coaches and front office as well. Unfortunately, you can't do anything to improve ownership talent.
